Went there on a works organized outing on a day when the railway wasn't open to the public, but what a charming little railway. Great hospitality from the willing volunteers, lovely buildings well preserved and a nice set of rolling stock. Will definitely be going back on a "normal" day !

An excellent afternoon was spent admiring the countryside and enjoying a cream tea in the buffet car, a trip back in time to a line that has probably seen more passengers in preservation than it did during its original existence, great afternoon out, easy parking, fair pricing and great views

Expensive trip out for a large family, but the kids loved it. Very good quality presents (thanks santa) and the hot tipple was lovely. Friendly staff and a comfy tidy train made for a nice , if short, trip out

Family outing to see Farther Christmas for us 2 oldies + daughter & boyfriend + son & wife with 2 grandsons. We spent nearly an hour chugging along being entertained by local amature dramatics, had biscuits & mince pies & juice & spiced juice. The grandsons had gifts from Santa which were good quality & sorted for each age group... More

Another lovely trip on this wonderful small line despite the fact the windows kept misting up and it rained for much of the day. However, the positives were the fact that the carriages are steam heated and were warming up nicely for the first trip of the day. Some other lines seem to forget this important perspective to customer service... More

We went with our daughter, son on law and two grandchildren. It made an excellent pre-Christmas outing. The staff were really friendly, the children's presents were of a good standard and we all enjoyed the refreshments. This was a much better experience than taking a child into a dark grotto. Father Christmas came through the train as it travelled along,... More

We attended this years carol evening, we ended up adding a few more people which the ticket people were very happy to accommodate and ensured we were seated to together. The Steam train and station is very quaint, we will be going back in day light to have a better look. The evening was a great success its obviously a... More

Really friendly Santa Special with the grandchildren. They were delighted with the presents, unlike previous outings on other railways and Santa was great.

What a lovely pre-Christmas outing! I took 3 grandchildren (aged 4 - 9) and was hugely impressed by the friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, generous catering (no extra charge!) and big presents dished out by Santa, who involved every single child in a personal conversation. Their excitement lasted right into the evening. Thank you to everyone involved!

Visited for a Santa train as alternative to the shopping centre grotto - and am glad we did! What a great experience with such friendly and helpful volunteers. Good parking and access - heartily recommended !!
