I could not believe this tourist attraction was not open during the October half term. Shameful! But then I have come to the conclusion that the new forest is not very geared up for tourists at all!More

Sally The Roman Villa is a largely an external venue so we reduce our opening times as the weather closes in. This autumn half term we were open on Sunday and we ran a special family activity to celebrate Museums at Night on the Thursday...More

This is somewhat off the beaten track and is only a small attraction, nevertheless there is a lot of information available in the small museum dedicated to the finder and from the volunteer guides. Worth reading the information in the museum before you venture outside,...More

An interesting site with a fascinating story. A large car park, informative museum display, and some childrens' activities, such as coin rubbing, and dressing as a roman. The villa itself is mostly outline stones, but the hypercaust and some mosaics are on display. Amazing that...More

We spent a delightful hour and half here. This is only a small site but what it lacks in size was made up for by the detailed information on display and available from a knowledgeable and enthusiastic member of staff. The outdoor layout was clear,...More

Well what can I say?...We pulled in as we saw a sign to a Roman Villa. We drove in and although we couldn't see anything from the carpark thought we would go in. We were charged £8.50 for the two of us and went through...More

I always find the Romans fascinating and like to get into the mindset of the great former empire. I decided that for my trip to this Villa I would wear my traditional Romanus Moustache appendage. It was said to be the fashion in those times,...More

Very interesting visit and something you do not expect to come across. As with all Roman villas you have to use your imagination slightly but overall very impressive. Grass on site was a bit uncared for but generally a good visit.

I've driven the Salisbury - Blanford many times and gone past the sign for the villa and I've even been to look for it and today I found it! It's not that well signposted and, the entrance being on a bend, is easily overlooked as...More

Dog friendly and very interesting - the Roman garden is particularly lovely. Well worth a visit, though bear in mind that it is ground works, so some imagination is required.

I love these off-the-beaten-track places. This is a small site but well worth a visit if you're in the area and like a bit of history. Small but interesting museum display, kids loved the ability to dress up in Roman clothes!!! The villa remains are...More
