Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was my 210 visited museum and easily one of my favorites. If you would like to digest all the art works on display properly, I would suggest to allocate 4+ hours. The Museum of Montserrat showcases a selection of the most outstanding artistic and archaeological heritage at the thousand-year-old Abbey of Montserrat. The museum contains six very different collections. Entrance cost was 8EUR and no queue for tickets. Visited during week time so maybe it is busier during the weekend but definitively not a museum to miss. Could easy rate the art display at a 5+ stars, easily compared to Rijksmuseum in Netherlands.

Astounding and unexpected collection of wonderful art by all the Masters! I absolutely did not expect it. If you have an extra day, going to Montserrat and visiting this museum is an absolute must-do!

We were on a tour and had two hours at Montserrat to do what we liked. This was a two floor museum. It had a lot of interesting things. It probably takes about 45 minutes to get through. The mummy section was cool but we went in there for the Dali painting. It’s something nice to do if you are in Montserrat but not necessarily something I would suggest going out of the way for.

The museum is certainly more pleasant than the cathedral which is pretty ugly, and it even has a goo El Greco and two stunning pictures by Picasso when he was 14 and 15. Also the local artists that are exhibited are talented (pay attention for example to Casas) if not very original. Worth the stop, it is well lit and nicely presented.

After all the museums in Barcelona and Madrid, this one is okay. I am surprised by its Egyptian collection though.

Love this museum. Cost 7€ to enter. It took about 1 hour to go through. You can pay extra for a recorded tour of the museum. Mir pieces most impressive. Great little museum shop to take home memories of this area and the art work of the museum. Best part of my visit to Monserrat. Shows the history of this 1,000 monastery and cathedral. Along with landscapes pieces of the breathtaking area in the Pyrenees. It was a pleasant surprise to see such amazing artists and their work. Highly recommend.

Nice museum with some interesting art. The art works themselves run the gamut--not just religious in nature. There's even a small Egyptian section with mummy and all.

I was unsure about taking the time to see this museum. It turned out to be a great spontaneous decision. The museum has an Icon collection that is breathtaking. That alone was worth the admission price. Plan on at least an hour to walk through the collections.
