Not too many books in English around here. And not many genuine antique or vintage books. I found the are very difficult to navigate and locate. If you love books, still worth the trek.

The Jimbocho is one of the largest, most densely populated, antiquarian bookstore zones on earth. Sports, entertainment, SF, music, etc..... all fairly well organized in a loose collective, and frequently spilling out onto the sidewalks on nice sunny days. I never visit Tokyo without visiting...More

Almost all of the shops sell old, some vintage Japanese books so if can't/don't read Japanese this place won't be that much fun. If you do, and you love books, take money. Make sure someone drags you away. If not, you'll end up in a...More

I first came here in 1992 when I worked in nearby Ogawamachi. The stores mostly have Japanese books but some of them do have English novels, etc.

Found this amazing place by accident when exploring. Street after street of incredible bookshops of all types. Everything for every interest, including lots of old manuscripts, magazines, 2nd hand and new books. Just exploring the individual shops was fascinating. Lots of cafes, bars and restaurants...More

It used to be full of bookstores side by side here in this area. Still there are several book stores here, but much less than it was a few decades ago. Actually I hesitate to call this a bookstore area any more. I'm not saying...More

weave through the small lanes to discover all these bookstores and specialty stores. Interspersed were Japanese eateries. There was even a steak house with friendly English speaking staff.

This neighborhood is the most comprehensive book market I have ever seen in my life. Alongside big publishing companies, there are many bookstores specialized on different type of genres. For instance you can find a store which has an archive of People magazine since 1950’s....More

Sorry I'm late I've been travelling. It's very much hit or miss. The bookshops don't specialise in Doll books. You need to allow a few hours to browse the store hoping to find what you've looking for.
