Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Navigating your way around Tokyo is never easy - even for seasoned travellers. So it was great to be part of a tour that helps me discover places that I wouldn't ordinarily have been able to find - or perhpas even be let into if you're not a local ( trust me this has happened to me more than once!). The hosts are keen students of Japanese food and culture and certainly helped me understand why certain dishes are composed the way that they are - or why its important to not mix your wasabi with your soya sauce! It's was also a great way to make the most of the time I had available - not worrying that I hadn't booked in advance for a particular restaurant, knowing that it had been sorted for me just made things more fun. As I was traveling solo it was also great to be able to discuss the experiences with someone who had an understanding of what was going on. The hosts are great and it certainly is a great way to experience the culinary delights of Tokyo!
