One would think that the Ginza area is all about big department stores and wide streets. Suzuran, though not necessarily tiny, is an interesting side street in Ginza, with lots of restaurants and curio shops. If you have time, it's worth exploring this area for...More

We wandered upon this side street running parallel to Ginza. There are many artisan shops, boutiques and restaurants. It is not as busy as Ginza and are mainly small shops. If you have extra time, it is worthy to see.

I decided to take a small street of the main streets (such as Ginza) and I found this little 'back street" with lots of smaller shops on it. It was early on Saturday (9:30) and most shops didn't open unti10:30 or 11:00.

Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's
also a downtown area with shops that were founded over
a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury
boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza.
It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a
collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular
