In Akabane and Itabashi, visitors can get a glimpse of the ordinary day-to-day life of Tokyo. On the east side of Akabane station, there are many traditional shopping districts and small izakayas, while on the west side, there’s a modern shopping mall. Itabashi is currently being developed as a residential area with a huge 1.1km long shopping street that extends from east to west. Rows of shops and izakayas target the down to earth everyday needs of locals. Both Akabane and Itabashi are notable for their easy access to the city center as well as their proximity to Ikebukuro.

1206年頃に、現在の所在地周辺を領有していた豊島氏の豊島左衛門尉経泰が、現在の埼玉県さいたま市の氷川神社より、素盞男命、稲田姫命の分霊を奉じて社を建てたのが起源とされるそうです。
参道が長く、富士塚などもあり、境内はこじんまりとしていますが綺麗に整備されていました。

路地横に古い石造の鳥居があり、板石を歩いて行くと二の鳥居の先に拝殿がひっそりと立っている。境内はあまり広くないが、神楽殿や竹根権現社等があり高い木々が並び静かであった。

中山道沿いの神社です。厄除のため参拝してきました。はじめて富士塚にも登りましたしこれで厄も落とせたかな。とても落ち着いた神社です。
裏手にある区営？の釣り堀は穴場です。

板橋区には氷川神社がいくつもあります。ここは都営三田線板橋本町駅から中山道沿いに５分位南下したところにあります。
イチョウ並木の長い参道を行くと、中央に本殿があり、まわりにいくつかの末社が連なっていました。ここには富士塚もあります。実際の富士山の溶岩で造られているそうで、頂上には浅間神社もありました。
首都高速の横とは思えない、ゆったりと落ち着いた佇まいの神社でした。

中仙道を通る機会があったので、今回も氷川神社にお参りをして富士塚に登ってみた。わずか数メートルの高さだけど、テンションが上がる。江古田の浅間神社のように年間でわずかな日しか登れないところもあるが、ここは毎日富士塚に登れるのでとてもよい。

板橋区の二つ目の富士塚は板橋区氷川町21-8にある。東武東上線中板橋駅が近い。ここも東新町と同じ氷川神社だ。首都高５号線の脇にひっそりと鎮座している。鳥居⛩をくぐって右側に、こんもりとした山があり、小さなお社がいくつも建っている。みるとところどころに溶岩石が見え、ひょっとしてこれかなと思って見渡すと、案内板があった。間違いなくこれが板橋氷川富士である。溶岩石の量ははるかに東新町富士より少ないが、こうやってきちんと記録が残されている。東新町富士にとっては羨ましい限りだ。富士塚は富士講であり、この板橋氷川富士は永田講となっていた。

中山道にあるこじんまりとした神社。その歴史は江戸にまでさかのぼるようで。富士塚があるので散歩がてらいってみるのも良いかもしれません。

中山道沿いにある神社。住所は氷川町だ。境内に入ってみると富士塚があった。私自身富士山には登ったことがないので、登ってみた。何かご利益があるといいのだがと思った。

この氷川神社は都営三田線の板橋区役所前と板橋本町の駅の間にあります。宿場町板橋宿の人々と中山道を旅する人々の願いの場です。境内に富士塚があります。江戸時代からの遺産です。

住宅街にある参道から境内に入ると空気がピンとしている感じがします。狭いですが、心を落ち着けるには良い場所です。
