I took a train from Shinjuku station to Tokyo Teleport Station on Rinkai line. No change of train needed. Since it was a Monday, Diver City was closed. As it was winter, it was raining that day and cold. When arrived at Tokyo Teleport station, after passing the gates, I took a left to Venus Fort before walking to Diver... More

Sure, the mall and the stores inside could be anywhere else in Asia but if you are a Gundam or anime fan, this Odaiba mall should be mandatory in your itinerary. The 1:1 scale replica of the iconic Real Robot gave me shivers when it moved (albeit limitedly) and spewed out smoke effects. There is a Gundam Cafe beside the... More

Visited this place because of the 1:1 scale life sized Gundam statue that's right outside of the mall. Totally breathtaking and amazing. This shopping mall is new so it has many fashion shops and places to eat. Try the food court, there's a food stall that sells ramen and I had one of the best ramen here. It's cheap and... More

Life-sized Gundam statue outside with a sound/light show a few times a day. Gundam stores outside and upstairs. Foodcourt on ground level, a few restaurants upstairs. Check out boutiques and Daiso. A few scenic sights within walking distance - Fuji TV HQ, Maritime Museum, views of Rainbow Bridge

Short monorail ride from the Shiodome / Shimbashi area. Gandam museum located on 7th floor. You can find huge larger than life Gandam RX78 in front of the mall. Picture attached. Mall caters generally to young and hip crowd. Great view of the Rainbow bridge across the bay especially at sunset.

There's this mall, Venus Fort, and Aqua City, Decks for shopping and dining. All are within walking distance from each other. Toyota also has a showroom which apparently you can test drive cars if you have a valid international driver's licence.

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
