It is located near the bank of Meguro River in Nakameguro where many people gather during the cherry blossom season. The careful design allows visitors to enjoy the delicate works of Nihonga in an intimate space. We also have a permanent exhibition room with approximately 10 large-scale works including screen paintings of cherry blossoms.

The gallery is set over three floors and is not too big that you can't easily explore in under an hour. Unfortunately no photography... More

I really enjoyed the Sato Sakura Museum. It's right on the Meguro canal, relatively close to Nakameguro station. The paintings there were by a Japanese artist, they were beautiful and inspiring. Admission is inexpensive, and well worth it.

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
