Top ways to experience Caretta Shiodome and nearby attractions
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I went there with family members just to see the winter illuminations, which are basically extreme blue in colour. You will see this very often in Tokyo and could see the glare already from quite a distance. It has been there already many seasons but apparently many Tokyo locals as well as tourists still like it as it is although I personally would like to see something else and new after so many years of using the same stuff.
This time there was a complete light- and sound show involving Disney’s Aladdin arranged around it. You had to wait though to get inside it to enjoy the show. Luckily it appeared to be almost continuous so we did not have to wait very long time. Especially the kids in the audience enjoyed it very much.

We stopped in here after visiting the Imperial Gardens. Our feet were sore and mostly we wanted somewhere to sit down and relax. Luckily, we found ourselves near the elevators which took us up to the 46th floor sky view. We had a drink at the bar in Sorasio and took in the beautiful night lights of Tokyo below. You can get the view without spending any money as well, as there are plenty of floor to ceiling windows near the elevators.
Caretta Shiodome also is home to tons of shopping and restaurants, and clean bathrooms!
Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

There are restaurants with reportedly good views on the 46th and 47th floors, but we didn't eat there. We did the free version - take the glass elevator up the side of the building and then looked out the free floor to ceiling window overlooking the fish market and Daiba island.

We headed up to the 46th and 47th floor of the Caretta Shidome in Shimbashi for a nighttime view of Tokyo. It’s not very big or fancy but it’s free and we were able to see Tokyo lit up!

Caretta Shiodome is a fantastic shopping and dining center in the Shiodome neighborhood in Minato-ku. . In this interesting and beautiful architectural complex , you may find the ADMT - advertising museum , the Dentsu Shiki Theater , a few very nice sculptures , and some restaurants and bars on the 46th + 47th floors . You will be amazed at the Sky View on the 46th fl. (free entry) , offering fantastic gorgeous panoramic views of Tokyo Bay : Tokyo Skytree ; Tokyo Tower ; the Rainbow Bridge ; Hama-Rikyu Gardens and The Emperial Palace Shinjuku ,
Once back down at ground level , you may find around the corner the "fairy tale" Hayao Miyazaki Nippon Television Big Clock .

Tokyo tourist info center gave us a list of the top ten roof top observatories in Tokyo. Among them the Dentsu Tower in Shiodome. Unfortunately just one window, facing the south , is accessible for free, overlooking Odaiba, the Rianbow bridge, Tsukiji Market and the Asahi Shinbun headquarters.
Only positive point: no wait at the elevators, the latter are very fast and take you straight to the top.

Lots of shops and restaurants inside the building. Go on to the top floor for sky-view restaurants. Only 5-10 minutes walk from Royal Park Hotel Shiodome or Park Hotel Tokyo.

Excellent skyview of Tokyo free of charge.Go to 46/F, you can see the Tokyo bay and rainbow bridge, night view is excellent, but the reflection of light inside make it little bit troublesome to take photo. Go there to see x'mas illumination if visit during year end.Fascinating light and music show, the most important thing is, you don't need to queue up and wait.
