For views of Tokyo, 360 degree panorama, especially if you want great photos, pick a good day, winter days in Tokyo are splendid, and go up to the roof. You can pair this visit with hi-grade shopping at Roppongi Hills, a visit to the Mori Art Museum, excellent dining choices, or pure chill.

On a good clear day, going to the Tokyo City View Observation Deck in Roppongi Hills is a much easier approach than trying to go to the Tokyo Sky Tree out in Sumida. Roppongi is the heart of Tokyo nightlife, but you can go during the day, pay 1800 yen 91500 yen if you buy in advance) and ride up... More

We tried a few different observation decks in Tokyo. We liked this one best. The views are amazing! On a clear day you can see Mount Fuji. As you can walk around the building, you have a 360 degree view. We went at about 17:00 to see the sunset!

The views of the city are great especially if you go to the roof. Loved the other parts of the exhibits too with the light shows. Recommend it to any visitors to Tokyo :)

The observation deck gives you 360 degree views of the city and only then can you appreciate the true magnitude of Tokyo. The city stretches as far as the eye can see and in the furthest distance you can see Mount Fuji. Obviously, the clearer the day the better and we were extremely lucky when we visited. On a dry... The tokyo tower was under renovation during our visit so we decided to try this place instead. Although there was some part of the observatory that was closed as well the visit was very nice. You get a full panoramic view of the city. The ticket price was a bit much in my opinion but I still think it's nice... More

If you want a great view of Tokyo, you can't go pass this. There's an optional upper deck for an extra cost which I didn't see (it was a chilly winter evening!). When we went they also had a special indoor exhibition where they attempted to recreate a night-time sky (sans urban light pollution) using a projector and a room... More

Easy to access from the subway (Roppongi), you don't need a tour. There are interesting views from the 52nd floor. You can pay an extra fee to go onto the roof where there is an open air view - however there is a lot of equipment on the roof and you only have a few viewpoints. Still, if you want... More

I enjoyed going to the observation deck. Although somewhat similar to the Tokyo Skytree in terms of the view, you are a little closer to Mount Fuji. The thing Skytree has over Tokyo Tower are the excellent shops at the base of Skytree.

I missed the chance to go there at night time. It was a clear sunny day I went to the 52nd floor of Tokyo City View Tower. Less than 10mins walk from Roppongi metro station, very easy to find your way to Roppongi Hill Mori Tower. I wasn't too lucky finding Mori museum was temporary closed for their next exhibition....
