The stadium and the area around it are quite interesting. There’s a large park. We were there for the Ginko festival at the end of November when the trees were at their peak. It was very popular, so a little difficult to get through the crowd, but everyone was so happy that it was a pleasure being there.

Large park with lots of walkways and areas to exercise, stroll, run, bike ride, or enjoy being outdoors! Easy to get to via Metro. Track area may be open and available to visit inside. Outside shop sells ice cream.

A lot of space, green areas where you can relax and enjoy the sun. Lots of kids learning to ride a bike, and lot of runners. A nice restaurant at the park main entrance.

Park for the kids, walking/running/biking path, gym (open to the public), and generally a huge area where there's something for everyone.

It’s been a decade since I last visited Komazawa Olympic Park and the upcoming 2020 Games seem to have given it new vitality, with a small 1964 history section downstairs in the gymnasium, in addition the myriad outdoor and indoor athletic options. There’s much more parking then I remember, outdoor food carts and nearby cheap, and not so cheap, dining options. Moreover, it’s big and sprawling, a surprise to find in crowded Tokyo or Setagaya Ward.

Great park. It is a big park with a smaller Olympic stadium in the centre where back in 1964 the hockey games were held. Around this stadium the park is situated with a circular jogging track on the outer side of the park. This jogging track is used intensively by huge amounts of joggers. This park is also known for the yearly Tokyo Ramen food show which is held late October/early November. If you are a fan of Ramen don’t miss this one. It is a very exciting event.

Komazawa Park is the biggest Park we have in Setagaya area. It is a great park for me as a runner, since it has an official running track around the park, and it is also a nice place for families with kids because it has a bunch of small parks for children inside the park as well as the little track for children to practice bikes. Not to mention it is usually used for sports event, but it often holds fun food events such as “meat festival”, and “ramen festival”, where people in Tokyo can try food from local prefectures in Japan.

This huge park has many fun things to do. You can walk, jog, or ride a bike around the large path that encircles the park.
Also, there are a few playgrounds within the park grounds. Risu Koen is great for older kids, while Buta Koen is geared towards 2-4 (or 5) year olds. There’s also a bicycle practice place for preschool aged children with bicycle rentals available (even tandem ones for adults!). There’s a family bicycle rental available and that type of bicycle has its own special path.
Sometimes you can catch some special events going on, even some soccer matches.

Great place if you are in town with teens and need some exercise. All kinds of activities for kids from young to old. Wonderful jogging tracks, outdoor fields, arenas and family friendly activities on the weekends.
