For tourists, they changed the private experience to private lesson only. It's quite expensive for the 30 min of taiko you get to do (other 20 min of instructor performance, intro, clean up). We all enjoyed it and the instructor was great. I think if you're looking for an indoor activity, it's worth the cost.

Had a great time here, fun but authentic feeling it really did get the blood pumping after a long flight.

The Drum Instructor was very engaging & did a demonstration at the end, with the Rugby World Cup matches all starting with a drum it was good to try first hand

We are a family of 5 with 2 younger kids.
The place is easy to find, the instructors are amazingly nice, and the lesson is great fun for all ages. After the lesson the master gave a wonderful performance that taught us a lot about Japanese culture.

Me, my husband, and our there kids (ages 15, 13 and 10) did a one hour private lesson at Taiko-Lab Aoyama and it was amazing! Our instructor was fantastic - super upbeat and fun! The drumming was fun ,exciting and cathartic! The entire experience was very professional - someone was waiting for us outside the studio, the studio itself is clean and beautiful, and the entire experience was awesome! Definitely add this to your trip - you'll love Taiko-Lab!

There is a Familymart convenience store somewhere up the street with a nice designated eating area, chairs and all. But afterwards, you should definitely come here for Taiko drumming

There are no words for the sheer amount of self fulfilment from finishing even one of their classes.
But I will try.

The explosive energy of the Taiko drums will wash over you and introduce the concept of justified pride in your work and efforts, which is so characteristic of Japanese culture.
There, I did it.

Come to Japan, and either you shop like a common tourist, or you drum like a proud native. Your choice. Just come here.

This was absolutely fantastic. The teacher was so much fun and put his heart and soul into it. And at the end he put on a great one man show. This was the highlight of our day. Cannot recommend it enough.

This wound up as a private lesson. Instructor explained the historical and spiritual background of the Taiko drums, then taught us several moves. This was actually good exercise. After our class, instructor did a presentation which was very moving. This was as a very rewarding cultural experience.

Experienced teacher, decent level of English, warm welcome and much fun in drumming. Even a small but impressive presentation at the end. If you like to try Taiko drumming, this is the place.

I found Taiko Lab online searching for group team building events. Our group of 20 were having a team meeting in Tokyo from around the world and I was tasked with the daunting duty of finding an afternoon activity for everyone. I am so happy to have found Taiko-Lab! Hikaru was so pleasant and accommodating in making the arrangements, and when we arrived, we were treated to an amazing performance by three Taiko artists, and then as a team we learned a whole Taiko drumming piece. All 20 of us, playing as one! It was an experience we will never forget. Thank you Hikaru and team for a most memorable experience! Arigatou gozaimasu!
