We did an hour lesson in block printing and were really pleased with the results but most importantly Dave and his team were just super friendly and was a great time. Only downside was I didn’t know whether we could tip or not (we were...More

Went here with no great expectations but what an experience that proved with care that an excellent woodblock print could be produced. Excellent instruction throughout but you were allowed to get on with it and the result was quite amazing.

In around 90 minutes, we were taught how to ink the wood blocks and then produce a 4 color print. The print makers are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and patient. They explained the different skills involved in creating and producing block prints, emphasizing the collaborative nature of...More

David was such a good teacher! He was also very funny and personable, his assistant was extremely helpful. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for something fun and educational to do in the Asakusa area! We also bought some beautiful prints!

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping

Our 'general rule' for children is 'Ten and up ...' It's a question of physical capabilities; the bench is at waist height for a typical adult, so very small children really don't have much chance to do this well. We've... More

The paper we use for all the prints we _publish_, is an extremely high-quality long-lasting mulberry paper, of course. For the Print Parties - where cost is a factor - we are using a student-grade paper. This is still... More
