Neighbourhood: Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

a peaceful place isolated from the hustle and bustle of Shinagawa station. 10 minutes walk from the station west exit.

A nice little garden right next to Marriott Tokyo. It has a nice big waterfall and is very relaxed during the day.

This is a small modern Japanese garden next to the Marriott Tokyo hotel. It does have a nice water feature and a quiet area to relax.

A very pleasant surprise so near to busy Shinagawa station. The hotel Marriott is in the midst of the garden which is very pleasant indeed.

The gardens are very tranquil, well laid out almost a temperate forest.

It is a favourite site for wedding photos.

If you are nearby it is well worth spending a relaxing hour.

A beautiful garden for walk, jog or just admiring the view. It was fascinating during the Sakura season (end March) as it was green and blooming with Sakura flowers.

This garden sits behind the Tokyo marriott and provides a respite from the glass and concrete and traffic and is a very pleasant garden with water features, a small lake and a large wooded area.

This is a lovely little garden, located just next to the Marriott hotel.
The garden features a pond, a waterfall and some lovely paths.
It's lovely for a 15-30 minutes easy stroll.

One twoer has the Marriott and the other in Gotenyama are apartments and offices and at the rear is a delightful Japanese garden and treed area, called 'The Forest." It has water features and walkways and is one of the rare gardens in the area. The Yamaonote line runs beside it and below it and this is an escape from the usual busy Tokyo.

My office is right here and during the Cherry blossom bloom this place is stunning. It is a nice quiet lace to relax too even when the Cherry trees are not in bloom.
