Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A small lake with 24°C water on this perfect summer day. Surrounded by mountains, very green landscape, not yet too built. Perfect for SUP or other water activities.

I did not expect to meet this small town on the way to Interlaken. Finally we decided to get off the train to visit the town.I think this is a very correct decision. There is a huge lake behind the town. The whole atmosphere is great and peaceful.Very quiet town. When I just took a seat near the lake,I did not want to leave anymore. If you have a few days to stay here,it will be better.2hours later,I left and remembered the name of the town Lungern.

We chose to stay here on a short trip to take in Lucerne, which is stunning but we fell in love with Lungern. The lake is obviously the central attraction with walks of various difficulty around the local area. A pathway circles the lake and offers barbecue areas with a supply of wood for anyone to cook their own food at the lakeside.
Vey quiet town, limited choice of restaurants , one supermarket and a well stocked bakery make self catering stays easy.
This truly is a little piece of heaven here on earth.
Swiss railways make it so easy to access from main airports without needing a car .
Added bonus of the most amazing sights on the train journey to and from Zurich or Lucerne.

Irgendwo am See parkieren und los - einmal rundherum! Dauert ca 3h (gemütlich, Wanderschuhe nicht erforderlich) und ein Teil davon ist an ddr Strasse entlang - aber trotzdem wunderschön!
Park your car somewhere at the lake and and start walking around. It takes ca 3h - relaxed walking. A part ist next to the street but still very nice.

This was the first big lake I came to in Switzerland and I was so entranced by it's beauty that I ended up taking photos of it from three different spots!
Lovely setting.

What a beautiful lake and town this is! The place is so clean and pristine. There are multiple hiking trails all around, a couple of waterfalls and a nice viewpoint to the entire area before you enter town. You will not regret coming here.

If you are driving to Interlaken from Lucerne, make sure you get off the main highway to go to Lake Lungern. We got there at dusk on a clear night. The reflection of the Alps mirrored by the lake was something I'll never forget.

Hi, we have a spare day in lungerne and would like to know how to spend it around lugerne. We would have already seen lucerne , Is there a day pass for train we can use to travel from one place to another see different towns ? We are a couple and a teenager child. What would it cost for the day pass. Or any other places of interests around lungerne by bus/train ? Interlaken ? Tia. Travel month april end.

Quite a long journey by train to Zurich 2hrs , train service is excellent so you could do it in a day . Cost is quite expensive on the train about 80sfr for return journey. No idea how much Zurich city tour costs. I hope this is helpful , enjoy the trip .
