Worth a visit not sure worth the money….
A stunning building in a beautiful location. The tour was fine and the tour guide made an effort to answer questions but at times seemed a little frustrated. No knowledge regarding the gilding which is so unusual. The views from the tasting room are incredible.
We are thankful for your comments and appreciate your honesty with regard to your experience in our winery. We are sorry to hear about the issues you've encountered. Your feedback is very valuable to us and we will use it to make necessary improvements to enhance our services. Cheers!

    Don't Miss This!
Beautiful vineyard with amazing wines. We had the tour and wine tasting which I highly recommend. Silvia, our guide, was a fountain of information and I left there with a much greater appreciation of the finer points of wine making and viticulture in general. Great to see how wine forms such an important part of the Spanish lifestyle and culture. If you have limited time in the Rioja, you should definitely prioritise this vineyard!
We wholeheartedly thank you for your words! Emphasizing the significance of winemaking within the unique region where we are located is of utmost importance to us. We would be delighted to have the pleasure of welcoming you back!

    Very enjoyable visit
The winery offers tasting flights and individual glasses, and a pleasant tasting experience sitting amongst the barrels. Tours available too. It’s high end (priced) wine, owned by Pernod Ricard. Whilst the wines might not exactly justify the price tag, they are extremely good, and we did purchase bottles. Unique design of building. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and I would recommend a visit.
We sincerely express our gratitude for your kind words and for providing such a positive insight and accurate description of our establishment. As noted, our team always strives to provide the best customer experience. Appreciate it, you are welcome at any time!

If you only do one wine tour in Rioja, this is the best!
The absolute BEST wine tour of my lifetime and I’ve done many, mostly in Napa/Sonoma, Oregon and Washington. Johanna. our tour guide, was so smart and engaging. I learned so much. The architecture of Calatrava will take your breath away. The tour was worth every Euro. My only regret is we can’t get this wine in the states. Go!!!!
Dear Kerstin, We want to express our sincere gratitude for your positive review and your beautiful phrasing. We are delighted to know that you enjoyed your experience with us as we are committed to consistently providing the best service and quality wines. We look forward to seeing you again soon and outperform your expectations. Thank you for choosing us!

    truly lovely and memorable experience
We want to thank you for a truly lovely and memorable experience during our tour with Silvia on Nov. 1 Silvia was the best guide we could have ever had.. She is so knowledgeable and intelligent yet at the same time friendly and fun. She answered all our questions with a genuine interest and enthusiasm. We could tell that she loves the vineyard and she is very proud of the quality products that are produced there. She let every person in our group know that we were welcome to ask questions and she went out of her way to help us understand everything. It was a perfect experience and Silvia made it outstanding and special!!! We are going to recommend it to our friends! Amaury y Patricia
We are more than happy to have provided you with such a positive experience. At Ysios, our priority is always to showcase the richness of the region that surrounds us with the sincerity and passion that our team embodies. We look forward to welcoming you again soon! Visited with 3 adult children (18-25) and all of us enjoyed the cata. The guide was well trained but the best part was she included visitors in presentation. The wine tasting was great and included little appetizer

Great Bodega! Very nice staff, great service, much better than in other overhyped wineries. Great wine tasting in an architectural dream, you sit right next to the barrels. Pricey, but the wines are great and the building is definitely worth a visit!

Another interesting Bodega on our tour of Rioja. The architecture is breathtaking, with the mountains in the background. Our guide, Amaya, was really good and spoke great English. The tour gives a different perspective than other with the focus more on vine growing than the wine making process.
Acoustics in the winery are not great and we were indifferent about the 2 wines which we tasted.
Nevertheless, an enjoyable and interesting morning

Amazing building in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, tours weren’t running when we arrived - recommend booking in advance. Customer service uncharacteristically standoffish for Spain. No brief explanations of wine were given at wine bar and atmosphere felt somewhat awkward. The man attending the reception desk/wine bar seemed bored to be there and more interested in looking at his phone rather than offering anything to what should be a fairly upmarket experience for a ‘luxury’ bodega such as this one. Speak fluent Spanish and English so the language barrier was not the issue.

The Ysios Bodega was the in fact amongst the first to commission a world-class architect to create its signature winery building.
Found in the Alavesa part of Rioja, the Santiago Calatrava designed building is inspired by the shape of oak wine barrels, or when viewed reflected in its clear moat, I think it looks like a corkscrew, but it is meant to look like barrels of wine.
The huge expansive roof protects huge areas for the making and storage of the Ysios fine Riojas – a bodega whose name pays specific homage to Isis and Osiris, two Egyptian gods closely related to the world of wine.
The tour was really interesting and given by a very friendly woman. The tasting was really good afterwards – we got to taste some very good reservas.
It’s an interesting place to go not just for wine but for architecture too.

this building is beautifully placed in the mountainous landscape and is worth seeing. The wine tasting experience was very disappointing and overpriced. Would not recommend. Go to Muga or CVNE instead.
