This is a very easy and accessible way to see a beautiful cathedral. It was the perfect length (for us) - maybe a 1/2 hour of explanation of the church with very interesting facts, along with time to browse on your own. The guide address the group primarily in Spanish and English, but provided a fact sheet in English so... More

Really impressive church that is only open for visits at certain times. The visits seem to be run by the tourist info lady. They only cost 2 euros each- the only drawback is although you are given an English translation on a sheet of paper the presentation and any discussion is totally in Spanish- I could only manage to follow... This is well worth seeing. The portico dates from the 14th century and is very well preserved. Of course its protected from the elements and casual damage so take the guided tour. The tour starts in darkness and the portico is revealed by light and its story told. The narrative was in English for us. Its an amazing piece of... More

This church is open to visits only on guided tours and the reason is totally understandable --the internal decor and ornamentation is stunning. For the first part of the tour we sat in pews and sat in the dark to watch as sections of an ornate, painted stone portico were lit up. This stonework dates from around the 13th century... More

There are guided visits at given times throughout the day of this spectacular portico and church. This is a must see, as it is the only polychrome portico in existence in Spain. The portico was sculpted in the 14th century (amazingly, the sculptures are intact, with no missing noses, fingers etc..as one might expect from a church in a town... More

Best church in the zone, with a 'retablo policromado' worth seeing. And to top it all, great restaurants around!

Laguardia is a fortified old city with two main churches one of them is Santa Maria de los Reyes with a unique and amazing polychrom doorway that anybody that likes art must see one in a lifetime. If was covered by a portal, so that the colors were never lost, and tha't what makes it so incredible. The inside of... More

I had been told how beautiful this church was but sadly I was very disappointed when I got there to discover it is not generally open. It's only possible to go inside as part of a tour which runs at certain times. I only had very limited time in Laguardia as I was on my way to the ferry at... More

The little town of Laguardia has nice picturesque streets. At the end of the village along the wall you will find the beautiful Iglesia de Santa María de los Reyes which has a breathtaking 14th century Gothic doorway. It has beautiful sculptures of the disciples and many other motifs. The church itself is also worth visiting but the gothic doors... More

At the far end of this little town you will find the absolutely amazing church......even if you have seen hundreds of old European churches, you need to see this one. I'm not an architect, nor a builder, but, I can appreciate amazing structures. The portico is breath-taking".......see the rest for yourself.....
