Lovely view. Not a very exciting place other than take pics and have some ice-cream. The entrance fee was 5 pounds. Can spend probably 1-2 hours there. There are a lot of lavender products there you can buy and the staff there are quite helpful and friendly.

Staff are really friendly and helpful.
The cafe is very lovely, clean and spacious.
We had cake, coffee and tea all of which were lovely.
My sister and I brought our mum here for a 75th Birthday treat.

Absolutely lovely! I really enjoyed the afternoon tea, so good I went twice this summer. I would highly recommend to all. Beautiful lavender which is fully grown the further down the field. A cute little shop whereby you're spoilt for choice. Everyone is warm & friendly, lovely atmosphere and will visit again.

A nice little summer visit- free to walk through the fields and go into coffee shop.
Entrance fees applies to some parts.
Car parking on site and for us it was part of a hike through some open fields .
Great photo shoot location.

My little grandson loved the tractor ride, so did I as I could smell the beautiful lavender. The food looked good although I didn't try it, we just had very cold bottles of water. I did buy a pulse point lavender oil and a gift pack for a friend. We all enjoyed the afternoon and I thought the prices reasonable for a family trip out.

We were in the area and decided to visit here. You have to pay £5 per person when you drive in. Parking can be an issue at busy times. The field is nice to have a walk around. There are a few portaloos near to the car entrance. There is a small shop and small drinks van/shop also near the entrance with some outdoor seating and tables. There is a small tractor train which goes around the boundary of the field which costs about £2.50 per person under 2s are free (thought this would have been included in the £5 entrance fee). The ride is ok and good for kids.
Overall the place is ok, a lot of people visit so parking can be an issue. lots of lavender and wild flowers.

It was lovely to walk around the fields. I personally enjoyed the rows that contained lavender with other flowers and plants to encourage bees, butterflies and other wildlife. The cafe cakes were lavender infused and tasty, however the queue was very long. I imagine because a Saturday afternoon. The queue for the gift shop stall/area was not as lengthy.

Thank you for your nice review. Sorry about the queue. Saturday can be busy in July and we know nobody likes to queue so we work as hard as possible to serve everyone quickly 🙏

Booked the Paella experience more than a month in advance to ensure availability. Despite the initial beauty of the place and the delicious paella, I must say that our overall experience was quite disappointing. The unfortunate encounter with rain, combined with the lack of preparation from the hosts to accommodate or plan for the weather, put a damper on the day.
The farm itself was undeniably beautiful, with vibrant lavender fields and picturesque scenery which provided a lovely backdrop for a day out. The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the paella, which was both good and tasty.
However, the disappointment arose when the rain started. It became apparent that the hosts were ill-prepared for such weather conditions. Considering the price of £30 per person, which resulted in a bill of £120 for our family, one would expect better provisions to be in place. Unfortunately, there were not enough covered seating tables available, resulting in half of the guests, including ourselves, getting drenched and cold. Understandably, many people decided to leave as soon as possible, as the experience of being soaked and cold overshadowed any enjoyment we might have had.
To make matters worse, the lack of proper planning extended beyond the seating arrangements. When we arrived a little earlier with the hope of visiting the shop, we were met with disappointment once again. The gates security informed us that we had to come back in 20 minutes, and to our dismay, the shop was already closed. It was a missed opportunity to explore and purchase some lavender products, which would have been a nice addition to the visit.
Overall, I cannot help but feel let down by the experience at Lavender Farm. While the location itself was beautiful and the paella was delicious, the lack of preparation for inclement weather and the missed opportunities to accommodate guests left a bitter taste in my mouth. Considering the price we paid, it simply was not worth getting soaked and cold. With better planning and attention to detail, this could have been a much more enjoyable and satisfying experience.

It is such a pity to read that you did not enjoy your evening on the farm. It has been real challenge to deal with such an awful July as the weather throughout the month was so unexpectedly wet and cold. In fact it was one of the wettest on record and a complete contrast to the drought and heatwave of 2022. We did our best with our limited resources and restrictions of operating in the green belt. We have had some valuable learnings this season on dealing with bad weather and agree that some things could be improved. We will take on board your comments and look for ways to deal with cold and wet weather in July. Thank you for your comments.

The lavender fields are beautiful. The shop and cafe are under canvas. The toilets are portaloos. Staff very helpful and friendly.
We went onto the restaurant and shop, about a ten minute drive from the fields, for lunch. Not such a great experience. You order at a small counter after finding your table, which in our case, was right at the far end of the restaurant,so a bit of a walk for some people. A long queue once back at the counter to order your food. And a long wait for food, they need to rethink how to run this business.
The food was ok but overpriced.

Hi,
A friend and I have been planning to visit the lavender fields on 4 September (it’s the earliest date both of us can make it), but I’ve just seen on the website that they close end of August? Is this really the case does anyone know?
After 5 months shielding I’ve really been looking forward to visiting here and getting out of London for the day.
If anyone knows that would be great!
Thanks

Is it buggy friendly?
Info
Banstead, UK
Hi
Our lavender farm is basically a field with lines of lavender growing and a grass or gravel perimeter. The shop and cafe has a pea shingle base and while it is relatively flat the field in general should be considered as an outdoor venue with an uneven surface. If the buggy is large it will not fit between the rows of lavender but if it is small it should be fine. We just ask that you take care when walking with your buggy in the plants as it may damage the plants. I hope that helps. Best wishes

Thanks for your question. That should be an ideal time for the lavender but please be aware that it could be a bit busy if the weather is nice. We always recommend a weekday visit for a calmer experience. Thank you

Hello, I am visiting tomorrow with my two daughters. Both being dairy free (age 7 and age 18months) does anyone know if they do any food suitable for them such a vegan food? Thanks in advance

I can't say that I noticed any when was there (but I wasn't looking for it either, to be honest). Their selection of food is limited so it might be safer to bring a packed lunch (unless anyone else has noticed anything different).
Hey. I'm visiting tomorrow and wanted to know how much the cafe is? Would £10 be enough?

Don’t forget the entry fee of £2.50 first! Then For £10 you could get a toastie a lavender cup cake and a cup of tea or lavender punch hopefully. I think £15 would be safer to take. Hope that helps and have a nice time

Can anyone recommend a place to stay within close proximity to Mayfield Lavender Farm? Hotel or B&B?

There is a Premier in In Epsom town centre and you can get the 166 bus from our farm. Not every 166 goes all the way to our farm so just check with the driver before you set off. 😁

Hi, is the lavender still in full bloom today - June 2nd?
From June 1 to the end of June the lavender is growing still so it is predominantly green. During the period of end of June to end of August the lavender is flowers and turns purple.

Hi Louisa
The lavender normally blossoms from about the third week in June - it depends on the weather. Now it is still green.
Best wishes
