Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were able to book a jeep tour with Sam last minute and what a tour! Sam was so wonderful - we were able to see sights we probably wouldn't have ventured out to on our own. Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing with a little hiking, cemetery, waterfall and a few more stops along the way. Had lunch at Skye's the Limit Tea Room in Uig. Kilt Rock was closed but we asked for coos and Sam provided. Super wonderful day - thank you Sam!

Skye Jeep Tours is a must do if you are visiting Skye and want to see it all and more! We had a blast with Sam for two days and we saw everything on our list and some fun hidden gems he had in store for us. Ask about the secret waterfall :) We were also able to enjoy some of the best curry ever during our tour. Sam is so knowledgable and is an expert in maximizing your time. We felt like good friends by the end of our two days and just wished we had another day with Sam to ride around and see the stunning landscape of Skye.

This was a spectacular tour and we were able to see far more in the day than we could possibly have managed on our own, all while sitting in the comfortable jeep with good sized windows for viewing. Sam is incredibly knowledgeable about Skye and very skilled. He is a very engaging and humorous person with a fund of anecdotes, and is very willing to adapt the itinerary to specific requests and to the prevailing weather if necessary. We could not have been more pleased with our excursion and highly recommend Skye Jeep Tours.

We had an amazing experience with Sam and Skye Jeep Tours. Sadly my husband was hit with a bout of food poisoning the early morning of our tour date and Sam offered to reschedule but I decided, due to our schedule, to do a solo tour. Sam also offered to pick things up at the chemist for my hubs when he came to pick me up, talk about going above and beyond! The day with Sam was amazing, he took me to places I never would have thought to go and it was a perfect day in Skye. He even told me about some places to go the next day when the hubs was feeling better which was again, above and beyond. I learned a lot about the places we visited, about Skye and about one lane driving all because of Sam. I would highly recommend this tour and if/when we return to Skye, we will be booking again!

Fully enjoyed our day with Sam in Skye! He shared history and some fables of the fairies. Never a dull moment. It’s clear he enjoys sharing the beauty of Skye with everyone.

Sam and Lynn have built a splendid touring company. Sam drove me all over the Trotternish Peninsula in one of their Jeeps, making sure that we stopped at the well known places and also going to those that are not known. At places, we walked in aways together, and sometimes, I would be able to continue hiking without it being a problem. The area is magnificent. Sam knows the best places and is very knowledgeable explaining what I was seeing. It is so good to have such a quality tour guide, and in a Jeep, that lets one see everything while Sam or Lynn do the driving. My day with Sam and Skye Jeep Tours was magnificent. I saw all the beauty and learned a lot. I would go again if I get back to Skye, and highly urge any traveler to Scotland to get over to Skye and take an unbelievable ride with Sam or Lynn and their Skye Jeep Tours.

We can’t get over the incredible two days we spent exploring Skye with Skye Jeep Tours. We worked with Sam both days and we’re able to take the roof off the Jeep. It felt like we were able to fully experience all the beauty and fresh air of Skye! Sam was so wonderful - He was knowledgeable about the history, region, stories, cuisine, etc. He also was able to show us some special spots through Skye that never came up in our research. As far as we’re concerned, this is the ONLY way to see the island! Thank you Sam for everything!!!

This was definitely worth the money. Sam was excellent. A private full day ride. He told some wonderful stories while showing us the island. He will tailer your trip to how you want it and give you plenty of tips for when you are on your own. He takes you to out of the way less busy spots and the popular areas as well. I could not recommend this enough.

This is a definite must do on Skye. Private full day ride with an excellent guide. And in a jeep, brilliant! You see the most amazing places, have so much fun with Sam and/or Lynne who are the sweetest people and enjoy taking these tours with you. Excellent hosts, excellent service.

Sam advised us against the main tourist locations but as we only had that day available to us we went against his suggestion and had him do that route anyway. The day was beautiful and every place was very crowded. Sam took great care of us. It was so great to have someone else drive in all of the chaos. Would his preferred tour locations have been better? Probably. Did he take care of us anyway? Definitely. Do I feel like we need to go back to Skye and do it properly (with Sam)? Absolutely.

Hi there
A day tour costs a total of £250.00.
Pickup is Broadford or Portree. We can pick up from your accommodation but if this involves more miles and time we have to charge appropriately for this.
Many thanks
Sam

Hi,
We will be coming in from Oban by public transportation. We are interested in your Jeep tour to Skye. Where will be the best town to stay, while we don’t have a car?

The best place to stay is Broadford. You could also stay in Kyleakin or in Kyle of Lochalsh. The train stops in kyle of Lochalsh and the bus goes to Kyleakin and broadford.
We have a website with videos etc of our accommodation if you are interested in staying with us.
Thanks,
Sam

Hello, I am looking for a one day private jeep tour (pick up and drop from Kyleakin) during the end of May (bank holiday weekend). Do you have availability then? and how is the weather like during that time of the year? Also I have a almost 3 year old. Is it possible to take a jeep with him?
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Anusha
Hi! I just wanted to ask if I can start this tour at Portree. I know the tour starts at Broadford but already booked a hostel in Portree and just found this tour..

Yes, I can pick up in portree. You'll just miss the bit between Broadford and portree. Might start a little later though. I'm generous with my time and will give you a great tour.

Hi!
Just wondering what seasons you operate in? My boyfriend and I are touring Scotland in January and wanted to know if the tours were stopped through snow season?
Thanks,
Caitlen Wright

Hi Caitlen,
Thanks for your kind inquiry.
Yes, we'll tour Skye throughout the year.... if the weather allows! We live on the 'wrong' side of a mountain pass and if it is dangerous to get out, we'll not be going anywhere. Last winter was a pretty bad one and we were not able to get over the pass on 3 or 4 occasions.
If you wanted a tour, I would happily book it into our diary, but would not take payment until 24 hours before.
Skye Jeep Tours do various self-catering options too, if you wanted to stay with us.
Thanks
Sam
