We had initially booked for the previous day but due to circumstances had to change. This was not a problem for Sam who was very accommodating. We arranged a pick up at our hotel and this arrived sharp. After some discussion about what we had previously seen on the island we set off at the mercy of Sam. He gave us lovely little anecdotes about all the places we visited, filling us on some of the local tales about the fairies and giants. Even told us the story of why Scotland is plagued by the dreaded midge. Rather than taking us to somewhere that may overcharge for lunch, he stopped at one of the local shops making good tasty rolls. The scenery was stunning as is most of the island. We had some interesting conversations throughout the day which turned out to be extremely entertaining

We would thoroughly recommend this tour as it takes the stress out of driving and gives lots of entertaining information about the island

Went on a Jeep tour with Sam. He is a good conversationalist who kept us very entertained with stories and funny anecdotes. He was very flexible in charting out a path, making sure that we hit all of the spots that we would love (beaches for my sister, distilleries for myself). He had great stories about his career as a musician with I, being an amateur myself appreciated.

I think the best thing that I appreciated was his ability to think on his feet and chart a path that would offer us the best view of the Skye landmarks taking into account some intrepid weather. I do like that he didn't stick to an agreed upon schedule and improvised as required.

If this is your first time going around Skye (like it was ours!), highly recommend the Skye Jeep Tours.

Sam guided us for 3 full days around Isle of Skye. He was very patient and attentive from our very first conversation via email and built an excellent itinerary for us. Being local, Sam changed the schedule according to the tricky weather thus we were able to make the maximum out of our vacation. The jeep made our travel much more easier around Skye. Definitely recommended!

My husband and I had been planning to rent a car and drive to Skye as we were not keen on a bus or a coach tour. When we came across Skye Jeep Tours, we realised that it gives us the advantage of having someone who knows the best parts of Skye and leaving us free to enjoy the ride rather than figuring out where to go and what to do. We are so glad that we dropped our car plan and so glad that Sam was available to squeeze us in at such short notice! The day that we spent with Sam on Skye is going to remain one of the most special and breathtaking travel experiences of our life! As soon as Sam met with us, he quickly figured out our preferences and took us only to places where there were no tourists and still ensuring that we got the best views that Skye offers. He ensured that there were several points along the drive where we just stood speechless at the beauty around us. He gave us time in each location for us to just soak in the beauty of the place. There was no hurry to rush through a list of places to be ticked off. A truly beautiful and immersive experience of Skye. As if these things weren't enough, Sam is also a great conversationalist with a great sense of humour which made our day with him exceptionally enjoyable (including the amazing cake that he fed us!). I would strongly recommend Skye Jeep Tours for travellers who are looking for authentic local experiences and want to soak in the place in whatever little time they might have.
ps. I am uploading a few pics but I have to add that pictures cannot do justice to the beauty of Skye and cannot capture the scale of it; it has to be experienced.

Where to begin! My friend and I started planning our trip to Scotland in 2019 for May of 2020, and the Jeep tour with Sam and Lynne was one of the things we were most excited to book.

As you can guess, our May of 2020 trip didn't happen, and was rescheduled for August 2020, then 2021, and finally we were able to go ahead and rebook for August of 2022! Through this entire process and all the date changes, Sam and Lynne were incredibly helpful and communicative. We've probably exchanged 50 emails, which they were so kind to promptly reply to!

Finally, the week before last, we were able to go on our long-awaited tour of Skye. Sam took us to all the sights we were dying to see (Old Man of Stor, Ferry Glen, the Quiraing) along with loads of stops we would never have found on our own.
Having a personal guide, to share local stories, histories, and insights was invaluable. And after the tour was over, it felt like we were old friends.

Although we had a rental car, there was no way we would have enjoyed Skye on our own. The roads are narrow and difficult to navigate unless you know where you are going. And the off-road capabilities the jeep provides got us to some places our little hatchback couldn't (or shouldn't) have gone!

I cannot recommend the Jeep Tour enough and a huge thanks to Sam and Lynne for making this the highlight of our long-awaited trip to Scotland. We can't wait to come back and see more of the island with Skye Jeep Tours!

Skye is beautiful but it's even more so when you are guided by someone like Lynne in her jeep. Lynne was a delight and showed us much that we would have missed on our own. We originally planned to do the trip in May, 2020. Sam and Lynne graciously accommodated our 3 postponements until we were finally able to tour in September 2021. Lynne was a superior tour guide, taking us to many remote parts of the island and providing us with interesting stories of Skye's role in Scotland's history. Combining history with the magnificent scenery made for a most memorable day. This tour was the highlight of our visit to Scotland and we very highly recommend it.

Lynne was our guide on our tour of the Trotternish Peninsula and we had a fabulous day! We were lucky that she was not only able to arrange fabulous weather, but also her timing was impeccable at arriving or leaving places, either just before a coach tour arrived, or just after it left! It was brilliant! Lynne is so personable and friendly, I definitely feel I've made a new friend. It was like having a knowledgeable friend drive you around their island. It was so nice to NOT be in a coach, but have a personal tour. Highly recommend! You won't regret it! Wonderful people!

This was a spectacular tour and we were able to see far more in the day than we could possibly have managed on our own, all while sitting in the comfortable jeep with good sized windows for viewing. Sam is incredibly knowledgeable about Skye and very skilled. He is a very engaging and humorous person with a fund of anecdotes, and is very willing to adapt the itinerary to specific requests and to the prevailing weather if necessary. We could not have been more pleased with our excursion and highly recommend Skye Jeep Tours.

We had an incredible day on the Trottenish peninsula with Sam. It was my husband’s dream to play his bagpipes on Skye and Sam was the perfect guide. Despite cold, wind, rain, and even sleet, we were able to see and appreciate the breathtaking beauty. Sam is a really interesting man and took us to a couple of less known spots that were true highlights that we might not have seen with a different tour😊. We’ll keep his secrets😉. It was well worth the cost to have such a personal tour and we highly recommend.

My husband I booked Skye Jeep Tours after seeing them recommended on a Scottish Travel, page on Facebook. We were thrilled with our decision and our tour exceeded our expectations. Sam arrived promptly at our B & B to pick us up at the appointed time. We had traded some emails earlier about what we were looking for, and on the morning of the tour, we reviewed the plan and were all in agreement. And off we went! We visited many well known sites, and even better, many lesser known sites. Sam clearly has knowledge of the island, and very clearly has a love for the island, it’s history, geography and wildlife. Sam was very conscious of our personal needs like coffee and bathroom breaks … and worked them in at appropriate times, without distraction from the tour. We saw so much on our full day tour …it was worth every penny!
