Our trip to Devenish Island was on board the MV Kestrel and it was a good way to get a glimpse of the Lough and visit this monastic site. The island is fenced off behind the ancient stone buildings and home to a healthy herd of cattle. If you have a day or two to spare, boat hire is also... More

This is a must see if you are in County Fermanagh. The boat ride to the island was beautiful. The tower is wonderful and the kids loved seeing the ruins. I have been there several times and never tire of the experience.

Beautiful island in Lough Erne. Site of a ruined 6th century monastery (St Molaise) and the famous 12th century round tower. Beautiful scenery on Lough Erne and worth a boat trip on the MV Kestrel, with a knowledgeable skipper. the boat can be busy so may be worth booking in advance.

Had a great time visiting here. Got the boat just outside the heart of Enniskillen, there were a 3 to 4 trips daily in July 2016 when we visited. The people on the boat were very professional and the boad was sturdy enough. The boat also sold drinks - both non alcoholic and alcoholic (if you feel like you need... More

Informative boat trip from outside Enniskillen to Devenish Island. Raided by the Vikings over 1100 years ago, the ruins still conjure up a sense of the isolation and life of the monks. Do respect the ruins - do not climb all over them so they will last for another 1000 years!

We were out on our boat on lough erne called at this island. We were amazed how clean and tidy it was. We spent a good while looking round the day church ruins. It's a must to do.

Boat trip from Round o jetty (Brook Park), Belleek Road, Enniskillen giving two hours trip including 40 min. on Devinish Island to explore the ruins and visit the museum. Misleading road signs on the Kesh road, neat St Angelo Airport, to a jetty apparently only used by the local council but nothing there when we called.

We took the Kestrel boat out to Devenish Island and although could not find fault with the boat I believe that the experience could have been made more informative and interesting. A few key landmarks were mentioned but no real history of the area was provided. Devenish Island was breathtaking and we had blue skies . Definitely a must during... More

On a rainy rainy day on our 2nd day in Enniskillen what do you do? Well my wife and i opted for the Erne Tours trip to Devenish. One queues up at the quay (first come first aboard) and enjoy a trip to the island in a covered boat with a maximum of 50 passengers. On the way out there... More
