We were there in the early evening so it was quiet. The sun was starting to set. Beautiful location. Lovely old building. Sweet retreat. Just to sit and refresh your life…. Visited in 2009

Nice historical monument. Precious late XXth century church praying Meritxell, Madonna that protects the country. Nice story regarding the old church. Definitely fantastic visit, you cannot forget it.

Worth going for the views alone. Nice that it's free and an interesting bit of architecture too. We had a car hired so easy to get to and find. No information in English though.

Travelling through Andorra from the French border; roughly half way between the towns of Canillo and Encamp one can hardly fail to notice, high up on the left hand side, the distinctive black and white arches of the Sanctuary of Meritxell. One could be forgiven...More

We planned to spend the afternoon there, expecting a big and beautiful place full of stories. Indeed it is a beautiful place to see, go inside the cathedral and see the mountains through the glass roof/window. The feeling of being in the middle of the...More

This peaceful church is very modern with freestanding archways, tower and semi-spherical altar in a stunning black and white interior. Free entry.
