Beautiful gardens and a lovely place to visit. We went around Halloween and there was free crafts for the kids which were really good. I would however avoid the cafe (run separately to the gardens by the Church) as the staff were really rude.

We had a brilliant time with a group of friends and toddlers/babies. Lovely grounds and it was good to do the bat trail as it was Halloween half term week. I wouldn't recommend the cafe as the lady was so rude to us who wanted to feed our hungry toddlers as well as us buying their tea and cake. This... More

I'm glad you enjoyed your day out at Witley Court. I am sorry you didn't have a good experience at the cafe, however, as it is privately managed I can only apologise and recommend you contact them directly regarding this incident. More

Witley Court is a real gem of a ruin. The grounds are stunning and the whole gothic atmosphere is enhanced in autumnal misty weather. If you let your imagination wander you can picture how it all used to be; in a sense it offers more than a fully functioning building. Was also interesting to see the fountain restoration close up.... More

This property has a wonderful fully-functional church, gardens, and remains of a lovely, grand home. We were greeted at the gatehouse/gift shop by two informative, energetic guides, who were extremely helpful with our disabled mother. They even offered to help push the wheelchair if needed! Once at the steps of the house, we were met by a guide who gave... More

A wonderful place to visit both the garden and ruined house are spectacularly , a glimpse of how the gentry of the age once lived , would recommend behind the scene tour if you get the chance , the staff are friendly and knowledgable , good for photographers , but would suggest early or late season for best colours although... Along with 25 Fellow Members from our Vintage Car Club. we visited Witley Court, its Church and Gardens. We had arranged a conducted tour of the cellars which was most interesting and fascinating. We then toured the remains of the Court, the gardens and last but not least, the beautiful Church. This was followed by a very pleasant picnic.

Visited Oct 16 - no prior research - evocative ruined great house that you can stroll through, long vistas, wonderful partially restored gardens and 2 fabulous fountains - a really unexpected delight. Easy to access, good car park, shop - we did not visit the tea rooms or the church (which looked to be very beautiful). We were the first... More

This is unlike any ruin I have previously seen. The shell remains quite substantial which enables you to envisage the amazing house as it once was. The property is run by English Heritage and a lot of restoration / conservation work is underway. The gardens are extensive and very pleasant to explore, the parterres are beautifully planted. The waterfalls were... More
