Make sure you arrive on a week day and call before to make sure someone will be available to take you into the hotel. We tried to call and email but received no return response. Disappointed after we made the drive to see the castle.

We had so many people tell us how good Leap Castle is to visit, we resisted time and time again because of disappointments from previous recommendations of other sites. It does make it very hard to know if any attraction is worth while based on...More

In Ireland you can visit restored castles or the ruins of castles but rarely do you have the opportunity to visit a castle partially restored. Your journey starts off on a road too small for two cars, in the rolling meadows Ireland, close to nowhere....More

Sean the owner is a gem himself. He talked with us for about 30 minutes just to talk. It was so nice. He answered all of our questions about the castle which was great. Little did I know he actually lives there. We pulled up...More

Yes! Took a train from Heuston Station to Roscrea. There is a train change in Ballybrophy and then called a taxi when we got there. It's a very small station- there won't be one waiting, but there is a gentleman working... More

He asks for a €6 donation per person. There were 3 in our party and I gave him €10 per person. It was worth every penny. He uses the money for restorations.
