Great bar for cocktails, with top recommendations for the staff. The only drawback is how slow and inconsistent service is. But overall a good choice

The food provided was well short of expectations and left us very hungry Understanding the venue we love is a cocktail bar and finding a way to open its doors. We appreciate the challenging times we now face however the over charging and undeserving of food was very disappointing. We are not going back

You’d be lucky to order a drink here, without the staff members correcting you on how you spell your name. This might be the most pretentious place in Melbourne and unfortunately it doesn’t have the class to back it up. What’s most surprising is that this place is in Fitzroy, an area known for being down-to-earth and real. The Everleigh is an impostor, a New York wannabe. Absolute fail.

This bar has a lovely atmosphere and the cocktails are good (if a little on the pricey side). The only thing which lets it down is the service on busier evenings. On our most recent visit we were waiting 30-40 minutes for a drink and when we looked around the back room of the bar, everyone was sipping water. I think it would be useful to let people know when they arrive if there is going to be this sort of wait - had we known, we would have gone elsewhere.

Staying locally, this cocktail bar was recommended by our hosts. We arrived after work when things were comparatively quiet, but the place quickly filled up. Located upstairs, it is actually well signed at street level and you enter through a simple glass entrance area, in stark contrast to the world that opens up as you turn the corner and open the door. Up some steep stairs to a dark, atmospheric space across several separate areas, we were immediately welcomed by the friendly, professional staff. Not surprisingly, the cocktails are at the centre of the offering here. You can select one for the menu, or tell the team a little about your likes and dislikes and they will create one for you. There is also a limited selection of other drinks - wines or non-Alcoholic treats. There is also a limited bar snacks type menu. We ordered the cheese and charcuterie platter to accompany our cocktails. The cocktails seemed to be priced at between $24-$30 each. He complementary sparkling water is a nice touch. But the highlight is the space itself - like stepping back in time. Well worth a visit.
