This place is quite extraordinary. It should be in St Petersburg and not a tiny village. It is the remains of a quite magnificent structure with Pyrenean snow behind. The best bit is the view from outside, but do take the guided tour, if just to encourage them in their preservation work. Will it ever be a functioning train station... More

We travelled from Jaca to visit the Train station. We did not realice that you had to book in advance. You can access one side of the station without payment but to access the best part it cost €20.00, and booking in advance. The cost does not seem too expensive as the amount of work they are doing to refurbish... More

This is well worth exploring. In recent times, trains have visited since 2014, but you can still wander the old tracks, abandoned engines and engine sheds, to get a flavour of the massive and monumental Nazi architecture that epitomised the Third Reich and its friends. There are guided tours bookable at the tourist office nearby, but just be adventurous and... More

The railway station at Canfranc was built as an international station serving France and Spain. There's loads on the internet about it it and if it's your sort of thing it's well worth visiting. Sadly we missed the official guided visit and had to wander over the existing tracks to the old rail yards. There are the remains of old... More

The size and location is unbelievable but the building is worth seeing and clearly has a future as it is now undergoing restoration. It will be fantastic to visit again in a few years when complete especially if the line reopens as promised.

This is one of the most underrated places in this area of Spain. This train station was one of the most important in the south of Europe in the beginning of the 20th century. It is a beautiful building and the surroundings are absolutely incredible!

Awesome, closed for visits but will revisit next year, you can feel history here....all very well preserved, enormous station. Strange to think Adolf Hitler took it over and had meetings with Franco here!!!

I have visited this place several times. Interesting historical site from the beginning of XX century. It was probably never fully operational. It is a huge railway station for the time it was built. No visits inside.

The station is a true relic from another time, a very nice discovery for urban explorers. Just too bad the guided tour, which you need to take if you want to get in, is only in Spanish. But we got the opportunity to take some nice pictures. If you do speak Spanish, the history of the station is explained in... More
