Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

An excellent self guided tour around the chateau. Quite fun. Lots of variety and views. Even hubby enjoyed it and he was quite reticent about visiting "yet another chateau".
Recommended.

We loved this castle on the hill. We give it 5 stars for it's uniqueness but bear in mind no coffee shop. The catle tour focuses on the history of the area and the family who lived there. There is not the usual clutter, much explantion of the rooms uses and in many rooms you can try medieval table games, which out teenagers loved. Don't miss the whispering corners!

Definitely a must see! Castle is in very good shape. We've spend here two hours, walking through the castle with the (English) audio guide in our hands. Extensive background stories for each room. In 2 rooms even Audio (french) and visual effects, where you're able to sit and watch 'the short show'.they did a great part in collecting the history here.
If you'll arrive in summer, you can even attend the daily shows at 14.30u (Falkon) or 17:00h (knights and horses) (arrive 30min before, to get a seat).
Covid:
Toilets were available, proof that you're covid free is asked (negative international test or 2vaccinstions). Wear your masks inside.
Entrance 13€ for adults (incl show), audioguide 2,50€ (you can share it).

We started our tour at 12 and ended around 14h. Perfect, almost everybody else was at lunch and we had the castle for ourselves. Things got busy at 2h again for the show.

We really enjoyed this tour of a beautifully recorded treasure with loads of local history. The audio tour was well worth it but only get one as you can share. The furniture has been brought in from some of France’s national collections to make it very authentic. Amazing views of the surrounding countryside.

Well worth a visit if you like old history and buildings. In the summer they have a wonderful 'son et lumiere' display on the front facade which you can control with a smartphone app!

We were staying in Nerac and this was one of the Chateaus that was recommended. There is a fee to get in but this self-guided tour is well worth it. It is an interesting chateau, with lots of displays and informational placards and a tower to climb, the view is spectacular on a clear day. A bit of French history that is worthy of a visit, and there are a number of good restaurants nearby to have a bite to eat.

We arrived 90 minutes before lunch (when they close) and were told that the ticket allowed us to come back after lunch, which was a real and pleasant surprise. It was a self-guided tour so we could take as long or short a time in each room. It was a really interesting chateau, with lots to look at and a tower to climb. I don't like heights at all, but it was worth the climb for the view, although I was glad to get back down again. Narrow stairs so not suitable for everyone. Definitely worth a visit.

The Chateau is owned by the community and was well worth the half hour drive to get there. A local woman from Saint Meard de Gurcon recommended it. The views from inside the Chateau are lovely, the self guided tour is interesting, and we especially enjoyed the whisper room. Children would really appreciate it. We had a very nice lunch afterwards at Hoff Thierry in town. The people are friendly and there were some interesting villages to explore in the area. We made a day of it.

We visited the Chateau in the morning and started our tour just after 10.00am so there were few people in the Chateau. We had a audio guide which worked very well for us. The place is being worked on but there is plenty to see with much of it already renovated. The place has been very well set out although some video presentations are only in French but even then you can get a good sense of the place. The climb up the tower is a must if you can. The view from the top is exceptional. The cost was 9.50 euros which included the audio guide. We took just over two hours to view the Chateau but you could do it in a shorter time if you were in a rush.
