Once found a very memorable visit. Like all CWGC cemeteries, very well kept. I hadn't realised how many German servicemen were buried in CWGC cemeteries but having met a couple of those responsible for looking after the site I understood. They were perhaps the most...More

Stopped here prior to our day tour of the Canadian invasion in Normandy. I never realized how many Canadians and Polls were on the beaches on D-Day, and then then months it took to advance the lines and to free Calais, where many Canadians died.

The grounds for this cemetery are beautifully maintained, the headstones clean and pristine. It is a very peaceful, sorrowful place. Worth a visit.

Very emotional visit. Credit to all concerned with making this a place where anyone can pay respect and remember those who fought to allow us to be what and who we are now. Thank you to everyone concerned

as per previous reports, and having been to many such places in France, there is always something new to spot or read, here it was the Chinise and Egyptian Labourers, and the second world war graves.

Like all of these places they are tinged with sadness, but you also have to say that they are immaculately looked after, credit to the people of Calais.

As mentioned by other reviewers, there are the usual military graves, including quite a number of Chinese Labour Corps who died in the flu epidemic of 1919. There are also at least 4 civilian graves (same white Portland stone but with square notches missing from...More

This, as all cemeteries are very emotional places. Each Military cemetery in France is laid out absolutely perfect. In beautiful rows. Very peaceful, clean place to collect your thoughts and remember the men who lie there, and what they did for us.
