feels like the middle of the forest

Spectacular scenery and lots of trails that are not that challenging make this hiking area one not to miss.

We spent an hour and 20 minutes today hiking the South Loop of the Lighthouse Regional Trail. It is amazingly well constructed and maintained and we enjoyed the hike. However, we chose to return to the parking area by doing the real 'loop', cutting up through Wilson's woodlot. We ended up hiking through some rougher trails - nothing that anyone... More

This is the second time we have been on this trail, the first was by foot and the second on our bikes. The loop off the logging road was not meant for bikes because it is quite narrow, but it was a great way to get off the highway and be cool in the shade

Love this trail, easy walking for those who want to wander through the woods but not necessarily hike. There are hiking offshoots for those that want more but this is a terrific walk.

This trail is accessible for wheelchairs. A very pleasant walk through the trees. About an hour to do this trail return.

Easy walk - not crowded. You can make the walk as long as you like or just an hour on the the broad, smooth, baby carriage or wheelchair friendly pathtway. If you leave the main path you can have some vigorous walking on great round loops. However - it would be very easy to get lost if you leave the... More

Don't be looking for this path in Nanaimo. It is about one hour north between Qualicum Beach and Bowser. Great path for a gentle walk but no lighthouse or sea views

This is one of the most beautiful trails that I have walked on the island. What I love most is knowing that people in a wheelchair can enjoy this trail from beginning to end. 2.5 km each way (or) you can walk back on a logging road. Will do this again for sure. Nature at its best!!!

This trail is wheelchair accessible which means well groomed gravel trails with no steps or obstructions. It has seamless crossings of streams and gullies on 14 slip-proof bridges. There is a very gradual grade, hardly noticeable so this is a very easy walk, good for all ages and all throughout the year. There is a wheelchair accessible washroom on the... More
