This unfinished fifth-century Doric temple has everything but a roof and an interior, and the huge structure seems unaffected by time. A small theater atop a nearby hill offers visitors a stunning view of green hills and the deep blue hues of the sea below.

The temple and the nearby theatre are worth stopping for, with the theatre offering panoramic views of the nearby area. However, you’ll probably need to spend at least 2 hours here, as the parking is at a different location, for 5 euros, and you have...More

This is a world class attraction. You park the car in a nearby lot for 5 Euro which includes the shuttle ride to the temple area. Beware of the climb involved to the Temple. Long and steep. Temple is magnificent and well preserved. Then you...More

We stopped here on the way to Trapani. We were so glad we did. You park up at the visitor centre and a bus takes you to the Archaeological site. From there it’s a bit of a climb up the top of the hill to...More

What a surprise to see this structure standing majestically literally in the countryside. It is easily accessed. Ample carparking available. There is an uphill climb to the temple so not really suitable for disabled travellers. Good cafe and toilet facilities available. Worth the visit.

Outside of Greece this is the best kept Greek temple. It’s worth the side trip to visit the site. You need to climb a few meters to reach the temple but you won’t regret it. Once at the site you can also visit a small...More

The temple itself is lovely and the whole areas with the theatre is well explained. We saw it at a cooler time of year but in summer it will be hard work. The only issue is the busses which seem uncoordinated and since you need...More

While the temple is great and the theater impressive, be prepared for a tough walk up to the latter. Take water!

My wife and I visited Segesta on our way to Palermo. This was to be the last of our Greek temple visits. It was by far and away the least impressive overall. First off, parking is not well signed. Once you get to the parking...More

The literature on site indicates that the temple was never completed when it was began in 409 BC. The temple was struck by lighting last year and two of the columns had to be repaired and currently have scaffolding attached. The rest of what you...More

A large parking lot is near the entrance. It got plenty of traffic when I was there, so while there were no attendants, there were people around.
