Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

These WWI British bunkers are much less primitive than many you will see, but representative of underground earthworks during WWI. The path to the bunkers is easy. We added to this a walk from the town square which was a pleasant break from our travels. You should probably make a visit to the town information office as well; they are pleasant, very informative, and have a nice map of the surrounding area's sites.
On the path to the bunkers you will find a memorial to the fallen. Turning right at this junction allows you to walk to the hilltop for a good view of Kemmel and the surrounding countryside. There is a panoramic map at the top, with labels for important WWI sites that you will see on your visit to Ypres.
You may enter the bunkers as well. They are for the most part clean and fairly large, and make for good photographs.

Added these to our itinerary on the way to Bayernwald trench. Was raining at the time so a bit of a muddy walk from the road to these bunkers, but I think it was worth it. As it was a dark day and we didn't have a torch it made seeing into one of the bunkers quite difficult, so will take a torch on the next visit.
There are a few information boards about the site there to read.

This is a sympathetically restored bunker and is well worth the visit. Off the beaten track but amazing to think that this was I used 100 years ago as a HQ.
A short walk up the hill to beautiful views across to Ypres and all around. Again, this is where they observed the activities on the front.

These are British bunkers from the Great War that were constructed in the spring of 1917, by the 175th Tunnelling CompanyR.E., who had been digging to create underground headquarters here for some months before that. There are four bunkers, including a first aid post which has a red cross painted on the wall, and a command post located at the far end. There are information boards outside the bunkers.

First I should say to readers who haven't been to WW1 battlefields before, there are many sites that can appear quite small (as this one is), however they should be included into an itinerary exploring the area and should be considered on that basis. Also the Ypres salient is fairly easy to get around and everything is in a reasonable distance. We visited these bunkers after visiting the tourist office is the pretty small town of Kemel, the bunkers just a few minutes drive outside the town. We were tipped off that the signage was fairly small but easily found the site with car parking on the road. The entrance paths split into three and you need to keep to the left which take you down to the bunkers. The bunkers are what they are and gives you an insight into that part of history. Although it only takes a few minutes to explore the site there is a circular path around the hill, the reason why they were built there, which is a beautiful wooded environment and at the top there is a great view which signifies the importance of the site, with a picnic bench to enjoy the area.

Surreal to see the bunkers and their location in the hill in relation to the direction of Wyschaete and Mesen.

Took ages to find as not well sign posted. Disapointed when we got to see the bunkers, in fact not much to see. Shame rearly as the area had so much suffering during ww1 but i supose its been left as it was that many years ago so it is authentic.

We were camping locally so had the opportunity to explore the bunkers at night by torchlight. It was an interesting experience thanks to the info boards.
If you climb the hill at the back of the bunkers it leads to a great view over the countryside.
