A lovely pilgrimage church with ornate Baroque furnishings and statues of the the 14 saints seen in a vision by a local girl. Well worth a visit!

On a recent visit, we saw many churches in Germany that were very impressive. This one was near the top of the list. What made me write a review was that we were brought here to see a musical concert. Apparently, every Friday afternoon there...More

I first visited the pilgrimage church of Vierzehnheiligen forty years ago, and was struck by its baroque splendour. It is not my favorite structure of the kind: Ottobeuren and the Wieskirche are more delightful, in my opinion. But Balthaser Neumann created a splendid church, and...More

This church towers over the Main valley - just like the Banz Abbey does on the other side of that valley. But in contrast to Banz this is still a monastery of the Franciscan Order and I think there is a female order as well...More

The Late Baroque Baltasar von Neumann's pelerinage church has one of the most outstanding interior that I have seen in my lifetime. Marvelous the structur with the 14 saints in the middle and the high altar. An absolute must in Bavaria.

We walked form Lichtenfels up the tree lines alley towards Vierzehnheiligen. During a beautiful sunny autumn day it was just stunning. We were surprised about the church not being overcrowded with tourists - probably due to the time of the year. The artwork and delicate...More

This place takes some getting to especially by public transport but is worth the effort as you see rural Germany and the view from outside the basilica is beautiful but nothing compared to what awaits you inside. The place is baroque run riot in all...More

Walked the pilgerweg from Bad Staffelstein, and despite scaffolding, the outside was a lovely site to behold. The inside was beautiful, chocked full of baroque-rococo gilded roses and chubby-cheeked angel babies. But the curator followed and watched over me like I was some kind of...More

This beautiful and recently renovated basilica is among Bavaria's most notable baroque buildings. Truly worth visiting.
