Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a lovely Christmas lunch yesterday at Scotscraig Clubhouse. We were given a really nice table with amazing views of the course. The food was excellent, & all staff were extremely helpful & attentive and went the extra mile to cater for our dietary requirements. Thank you very much.

I chose the club to have my 60th birthday party. From start to finish I was supported with my party, buffet was excellent and they couldn’t do enough to make sure we had an amazing time. Special thanks to Liam and Kirsty. Would definitely recommend booking events here 😄

There's no Starter or on course Martials at this Club and they seem to not care or have any control over pace of play. So, if like us you are behind 4 high handicappers who spray their balls all over then can't find them, yet WILL STILL NOT LET ANYONE THROUGH (even though there were clearly up to 3 groups on every tee behind them) it is torture. If you hit straight the course is not that difficult in good weather. We told the young lads in the Pro Shop at the half way point but they just shrugged. We gave up. £100 each totally wasted and really wish we had played somewhere else. Would not recommend and would not return.

Dear WoodnWickets, I'm sorry you're experience of Scotscraig GC did not live up to your expectations yesterday. The demand for golf in the whole North Fife area during Open week has been exceptional as you'd expect, especially following the last two years of lockdown as visitors can now travel to the home of golf from all over the world. There are always going to be challenges with a tee sheet that is full from 7am and with many golfers of varying standards that are both new to the golf course and perhaps new to links style golf. Scotscraig for the members is a 3 to 3 ½ hour round, however, visitors do always take longer. That said the average time for 18 holes yesterday was 4 ½ hours despite how busy the course was. I'm sure our guys would not have 'shrugged shoulders' and dismissed your points as you've described. An interesting comparison might be that the best golfers in the world took 6 hours to play the Old Course yesterday. That said course etiquette is important and with experienced golfers you would always hope issues such as you've described are dealt with between groups on the golf course. I would be happy to offer you and your colleagues an opportunity to revisit the club as our guests at another date and enjoy Scotscraig in normal circumstances. Golf outing with St. Andrews bar Coatbridge. First time playing this course. Course was in fantastic condition, challenging but fair. Members and staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for a society visit.👍🏌️‍♀️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Day 2 of my golfing holiday. Easy parking next to the club. Weather had been very wet overnight so was expecting conditions to be challenging.
Nice welcome by 2 young fellas in the pro shop, which was well stocked.
Teed off and caught up with 2 groups who kindly let me thru.
The course did have some lying water, but better than I expected. Tees were in good order and greens ran true, albeit a wee bit soft. Rough can be an issue so tried to avoid it.
All in a fine course, food was good too.

Enjoyed the greens and very nice fairways after a lot of rain last few days. The rough was unfair and far too thick and inconsistent with heavy patches of rough just off the fairways. The catering experience and service was poor. Had run out of soup by 1pm and waited 30mins for a cold filled roll after having to chase staff and other golfers leaving and getting refunds as their food was taking too long.

Disappointed to say it was a poor experience indeed. Having been told the course was open with a Members Comp on, they said they had a lot of cancellations due to weather, so should be OK. We duly turned up and some members were teeing off, so we were asked if we minded going and having a coffee. WE did that and in that time cancellations had came in and no further members had teed off. We went back to the assistant Pro and he said it was looking good, there was at least half an hour of clear space between the last group to tee off and another had just cancelled. We were a two ball so no speed issues. At this time we were met by Mr Officious, who basically said, you cant play whilst the members have a comp on. But if we waited another hour he would look at it again (the comp would still be playing at this time). having been there an hour already and seen on 3 ball tee off we elected to decline his 'kind' offer. I am sure the club would have welcomed the green fees but this is typically the small mindedness of an individual who represents a club and did not have the imagination to realise we were going to cause no issues on the course, but he had his little day of power. I normally take up the Winter Offer but me and my colleagues will be going elsewhere this year..

Visited Scotscraig for the first time. Firstly a pleasant and friendly welcome from the Professional
The course layout was good and a nice mix of holes and tricky in places.
The greens were a good pace to putt on although a few of them were brown and patchy
I did however feel the tees were very scruffy but it was a Monday when we visited and may have been the result of a busy weekends golf so I dont want to be critical.
Overall a good course to play and another tick off the bucket list

Arrived yesterday expecting to get a bacon roll and a coffee before playing golf . Club house locked and deserted. Pro shop was open but could offer no advice re bacon rolls . Fortunately a member advised that a community cafe nearby was open and served bacon rolls . So drive or walk past the clubhouse , turn right and head for a red coloured metal and plain wood building. About 300 yards . Staffed by two lovely ladies who provided 4 excellent bacon rolls and hot drinks for the team. We have played 3 Scottish courses in the last week, Castle Stuart , Dukes and Strathmore . All 3 provided bacon rolls and food after. Scotscraig needs to up its game . Pro shop thought catering might commence on 5th August , but that is pretty useless. So until then head for community cafe . Scotscriag would be improved by removing much of the whin bushes which spoil the course . But my partner and myself managed to win on the 17th , and collected the £1 reward .
