I've been wanting to visit Scotland for about 20 years. In that time, I've experienced many life changes, including meeting my wife. She encouraged me to finally make time for this special trip.

We booked an ambitious, multi-day tour with Paul, taking us through marvelous countrysides, isles, villages, cities and more. In good weather and not-so-good weather, Paul provided the wildly memorable outing I'd always dreamt of. He took great care of my wife and I, sharing stories, providing valuable information and interesting insights, and good humor all the way. He also graciously answered any and all manner of silly questions we came up with.

I can't emphasize enough how happy the whole experience made me. We *highly* recommend Strachan Tours for your Scotland experience.

Paul was our driver and tour guide for 7 days straight in and around the beautiful Scotland, September 2023. There was 6 of us (three adult couples over 50 :) ) If you read through the reviews, the common thread is Paul's love for Scotland and the Scottish History/Heritage. He showed us more of Scotland than we ever dreamed possible in such a short period of time. We started with an itinerary of our own but he was instrumental in adjusting, adding and changing where either he or we decided to amend. He also assisted in booking of hotels, restaurants and B&B type accommodations. I would walk 500 miles with Paul and we highly recommend his services.

My wife and I spent 4 days and 3 nights with Paul on a personalized tour from Edinburgh, through Inverness, to the Isle of Skye and then dropped at our hotel in Glasgow. We had a detailed, written itinerary which Paul seemed to edit as we travelled and talked. My wife mentioned she liked waterfalls and miraculously we were stopping to see multiple falls not previously mentioned. Paul is very personable and obviously proud of his home Scotland. We would not return to Scotland without booking something with Strachan Tours and Paul. Paul.....thanks for the memories!

BEST TOUR COMPANY we have dealt with in a while. We went to a couple distilleries and out the Inverness/Loch Ness, with a good drive through the Highlands. Definitely knowledgable about the area. Paul, driver/owner is personable and also reads his clients well. It was nice to have a driver that can share information along a winding drive, but also respect the quiet moments when we chose to nod off. As we were traveling during the Pandemic, it is also nice to note that the company had a reasonable idea of what was open or not, and the driver alway work mask. The vehicle was very clean and we felt safe.

Paul was a wonderful tour guide! We saw the beautiful countryside as well as the famous St. Andrews golf course. Paul adjusted the tour to work for us when we wanted to stay a bit longer at the golf course. It was a lovely day!

On August 3, 2017, we had the pleasure of an entire day tour with Stuart. Since Les's family history centres around the town of Kirriemuir, near Dundee, we had made a list of all the places in the area that we would like to visit and sent it off to Strachan Tours. Although Stuart's comment was that it was one of the most unusual personal tours he had ever conducted, he was able to meet, and exceed, our every expectation-including a shopping trip to the R Doig and Son store in Forfar! Thank you to Strachan Tours and Stuart for an amazing day, and lifelong memories.

I took the right decision by engaging Strachan Tours for our family trip to Scottish Highlands. It was a 7 days trip and Paul worked out the itinerary - a very detailed one. Though Tourist season was yet to start owing to harsh climate, Paul ensured the trip is enjoyable through meticulous planning. He is a professional guide and an extremely friendly person. Our planned visit to Orkney island could not happen due to unexpected weather conditions and ferry closure. Paul managed to fill in those days with visits to Inverness area and Aberdeen. I would highly recommend Paul and his Strachan Tours and would not hesitate booking him for our next trip in Scotland.

Hi Boban, Thank you for the review. It is indeed a shame that we experienced such stormy weather during your tour in the first week of April this year. It was certainly not the typical spring weather that we normally enjoy. Obviously we did not manage to visit the Isle of Orkney and circuit the North of Scotland as planned and some last minute re-planning was required to fill the void caused by the weather and unexpected closures etc. So, I fully appreciate this was not the 5 star tour, that you expected, and to which I normally aspire. I am therefore grateful to receive 4 stars and see that you are still happy to recommend my services and perhaps book again. It is also a great relief that the doors of my vehicle are still completely intact after being forced open by those strong winds...Phew! Aw the Best. Paul :)

Our family of 5 was traveling through Scotland May 2013. Strachan Tours provided great help over the phone to create a day trip that suited all of our wishes. They were able to pick us up from our location in Dundee and Paul had running commentary throughout the trip. Paul answered all of our questions and shared many anecdotes along the way. He even sang some songs for us!

The daytrip was ~$500 for 5 adults (not including lunch or admission to Urquhart Castle). We traveled through the heartland of Scotland, stopping on route to visit the highland town of Pitlochry and arrived in Loch Ness midday. We visited Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness. We then continued along the length of the Loch, visiting Fort Augustus & Fort William. We returned across the mountains via the infamous Glen Coe. There were extra stops to see beautiful castle ruins and even the Harry Potter train.

We booked Paul Strachan for 2 day tours from our cruise ship. He picked us up at our cruise ports for both Glasgow and Edinburgh. He was prompt and waiting for us when we arrived. We had 8 people for his vehicle, which was just fine. He was flexible to our wishes and provided the exact tours we requested. I loved that on the way back from our tour to the Trossachs we had music in the van and we all sang along. The time passed quickly. I liked that we did not pay until the end of the tour. We had a second tour with Paul to St Andrews and Edinburgh castle...perfect!! I highly recommend Paul's tours. He responds to all e mails and will answer questions before your tour.

This was our first trip abroad and we were originally going to rent a car, but after checking around we found that there was really no need for one. We could get around on buses and trains for our day to day travel. Any special place that we wanted to go could be covered by Strachan Tours. They go everywhere.
Stuart from Strachan Tours picked us up at the airport in Edinburgh and delivered us to our flat in St. Andrews. We took two tours with Paul during the week--one to Edinburgh and another to Edradour Whisky Distillery. Paul had chosen some activities on the Edinburgh tour that he thought we might like, and he hit it dead on. We toured the Britannia and the Edinburgh Castle. He was an excellent guide who was well informed on all there was to see and do in the area. In addition to the ship and castle, he introduced us to several other places that we visited later in the week on a train excursion into Edinburgh. As it was our first trip into the area, we asked him many questions about local customs and culture. He was always happy to help.
On our trip to Edradour, he took us to Dundee and the Laws area on top of the hill. He showed us many things on the way to Edradour, and watched after us as though we were family. He even graciously endured having to look at all my pictures of my dogs, cats and birds on my Ipad.
When we left St. Andrews, Paul picked us up and took us back to the airport in Edinburgh. We wanted to get there very early, and he accommodated our early start. As we were leaving, we saw a friend that we had made in town. As we were saying our goodbyes to him, Paul waited patiently by the van and offered to take pictures of all of us.
Paul and his staff are all entertaining, funny, good-natured and caring. He is the best!
