It is a long way from Florence but to visit one of the most prestigious winery of the world worth it. Bolgheri is very beautiful. Surrounded by pure nature and in between are the vines! Ornellaia is amazing! Our guide was very attentive and showed us the state as well as the production facility. The tasting was wonderful! Excellent wines!!! Pricier than other wine tours/tastings but worth the price. Intimate setting off the eaten path, great host showed the property and the wine tasting was a very personal experience. Would recommend for those who want a premium experience. Would definitely come back again.

after an underwhelming experience at Antinori (despite the architecture), the visit to Ornellaia was a refreshing change. a bit hard to find which was the first postive clue and you may want to get the actual gps coordinates or just keep an eye out for the small Ornellaia sign on the gate. very pleasant entrance, parking and the wine tour guide from the area was excellent, patient and told a good history of the place. learned a good deal about Ornellaia, super tuscans, and Maseto which is on site but now separate. interesting art theme annually added to the experience and something to talk about. the wine tasting went from the entry level all the way up to Ornellaia which helped capture the approach to winemaking and the differences. there is a restaurant there but headed for renovation soon I think. bit of a drive but worth it.…

This was one of the worst tasting experiences I have had in my life. The staff was incredibly rude and pretentious and (2) of the wines served were oxidized.
