We booked two tours on our trip through Cortona Wine Tours. Alberto (the owner) made the planning process very easy and he also led both of our tours. Our first tour was a day-long winery tour. It was on a Sunday, which usually made visits difficult. However, we were able to get intimate and informative visits at both wineries, which made the experience very special. Our second tour was a truffle hunt, which was the following day. It was a great time, and we ate very tasty truffle-focused lunch at the end.

Overall, both tours demonstrated how knowledgable and passionate Alberto is about the tour subject matte. He also has strong relationships with wine producers and others across the region, which very much enhances the experience. Alberto is also a stand up guy, generous with his time, and even shared a bottle of his own wine for our truffle tour lunch. The air conditioned vehicle was a huge plus too given the heat.

My parents, husband and I had the chance to do a wine tour in Montalcino with Alberto. It was the most amazing wine experience I have ever had. Alberto took time to understand all of us that would be joining and he crafted the perfect day for us. We visited three perfect wineries each offering similar types of wines, but each were made in such different and unique ways. The amazing women that led the three wineries each taught us something different. Alberto shared so much wonderful information about the area and his life in the wine world. He also arranged the perfect stop for lunch in Montalcino. I cannot recommend Alberto any more. Thank you, Alberto!

Our wine tour day in Montalcino with Alberto was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Italy! Alberto was amazing-he is so nice, easy to talk to, and does a fantastic job of explaining wine without making you feel silly for asking simple questions and/or without being condescending. He is extremely knowledgeable and knows every detail about geography, topography, wine production, etc. The itinerary he planned for us was perfect: the two wineries were excellent, and the restaurant we went to for lunch was outstanding. We LOVED our tour with Alberto. It is a must-do for anyone visiting the region!

I will start by saying our guide was great. He was on time to pick us up from the hotel and he was a local with tons of knowledge about the area, the history and the wine in the region. If you're lucky enough to get Stefano as a guide you're lucky!

We booked the Cortona Wine Tour - Option 1 that takes you to a micro vineyard to taste Syrah and then a larger vineyeard called Tenuta Vallocaia in Montepulciano to taste their wine and tour the vineyard.

The winemaker at the first stop was great! It's a real one man operation which is unique. I'm not typically a big Syrah drinker but my wife and I were both super impressed with the owner and his business. He opened up a bottle and we ended up drinking the entire thing as we discussed his business and his wine. Great guy! You could tell the difference in the wine as we let it open more and more over the hour.

Then we went to Tenuta Vallocaia in Montepulciano. This is a beautiful estate with some great wine and amazing views looking out to Montepulciano. Lunch was included and we were able to tour around the vineyard operation. All great stuff.

I think our main knock on the day was that we paid €300 EACH for a five and half hour day. This wasn't the guide's fault by any means. Again, he was fantastic but for €600 I think you can get better value for your money. We've ton tastings all over the place and this seemed to be a bit overpriced for the final product.

If you're not worried about price and your a twosome by all means book. I just think there are other options out there or you could do a single tasting at Tenuta for a fraction of the overall price.

We had an incredible experience with our guide, Alberto. We visited 4 wineries over the course of 2 days, each unique and specifically curated to our wine preferences by Alberto. Not only did we have an extremely personal experience with the wineries themselves, we also had the opportunity to taste local Tuscan cuisine each day that Alberto organized according to our dietary restrictions (vegetarian). Alberto is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to wines and would add to the information/history provided by each winery. Alberto was extremely responsive as we planned our trip from the USA and gave great advice given that we were visiting in the off-season. We could not be more grateful for our experience, which was absolutely seamless, and are looking forward to returning to Tuscany with Alberto's guidance again.

My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary in Italy and had the pleasure to go on two separate wine tours with Alberto from Cortona Wine Tours. He created a personalized experience, giving us access to unique wineries we would have never discovered on our own. We toured Chianti and Montalcino and enjoyed some lovely wines. His knowledge and expertise of the area and fine wine made these tours truly exceptional. He also arranged wonderful lunches. Alberto has a true passion for the region and wine - and now we share that passion. Thank you for such an exceptional experience! Highly recommend!

My mom and I had a great experience with Alberto. He is a trained sommelier and is very, very knowledgeable about all things wine! We went to a cheese factory and Pienza one day and then we went to 2 beautiful Montalcino wineries the next day for wine and olive oil tastings as well as beautiful lunch. He picked us up at our hotel and arranged everything for our 2 day private tour of Tuscany. I would definitely recommend this company if you want a true Tuscan wine country experience.

Alberto was not just a wine tour guide, he ended up being someone my wife and I will make sure to stay in-touch with. From our 45min drive from Montepulciano to Montalcino, we were really able to get to know Alberto and his background/passion for wine. He made my wife and I’s day magical from showing us his favorite wineries and getting to meet the wine makers, taste their wines, and gives us more information on the process and everything. Don’t bother looking at the other tours and book Alberto to do your next wine tour through Tuscany, you will not regret it.

In May 2022 we were looking for a wine tour that would pick us up in Cortona and take us to both Montalcino and Montepulciano. We contacted Alberto through our rental host and he was most accommodating to our wine tour plans. The tour itself was beyond anything we could have hoped for. Alberto was not only a great driver but also and more importantly a fantastic tour guide, excellent sommelier and a genuinely nice person to spend a day with.

We have taken other wine tours but none could compare to the quality and enjoyment of this tour. We highly recommend Cortona Wine Tours.
