Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Kalavasos Neolithic site is well presented with the boardwalk built above the ruins which makes it a good observation platform. The attendant is very friendly.

This site features an excavated settlement or people who inhabited the area 9,000 years ago.

The the viewing platform allows a walk around the site and gives clear sight of the remains of the buildings. There are multiple information boards explaining the known and assumed history.

Laying just off the Limassol/Nicosia/Larnaca motorway it is easy to get to and well worth a stop.

I came by car via the brigde in Kalavasos. The place is fun to see. It wakes up my imagination to think how they lived back then. It’s a nice place to visit if you are in the area. The Kalavasos dam is ok to visit also in the same time, and Zygi, for a fish meal.

Visited as we were in the area. Only €2.50 entry. Not a large site but worth a visit if you have an interest in archaeology.

After Rome, Pompei and Malta, Cyprus was an interesting experience. It was almost like opening a time capsule, going back to the neolithic period. You are not given this experience very often and Cyprus is the place for it.

This is a very interesting site. It is Neolithic and the houses are quite small and round. I assume therefore that the people of the time were quite small also. They did not have much to work with so it is basically built into the rock. Marvellous how they managed it. Well worth a trip.

This is not a big historical site. 2.5€ entrance fee. It’s covered by a fantastic tent which is worth seeing. Information plaques around the site told me all I wanted to know. Worth a visit if you’re nearby.
