Two main caves with amazing water - amazing blue and clear water. It gets very hot in there as the water is hot and not suited for bathing (due to some accident a while ago it is now forbidden to bath there). As it is...More

I liked this place more than my husband did. He was freaked out by climbing over rocks inside. I loved it. It's not so big inside but really beautiful and peaceful with amazingly colorful water. Then you can walk above to see the rift in...More

I would recommend taking a few minutes off the main roads to take a look at this cave. Colors inside are very interesting as well as the overall look of the underground spring that feeds it. You probably will invest maybe 20 minutes at the...More

Grjotagja cave is a great site to visit while in the Lake Myvatn area. There is a pool inside the cave which makes a great picture. It was the filming site of John Snow and Ygritte from season three of Game of Thrones.

One of many awesome sights in the Lake Myvatn area that has the added draw of having been featured in Game of Thrones. It's a short drive to the cave's entrance from the main Lake Myvatn sights. The cave is small, but have a little...More

This might have been a cool little spot before it became so popular, but it's really not worth dealing with so many people crowding to get in.
