A must-visit Palace inside a Fort. You must go up by elephant. Hard to avoid the hawkers. So much to see.

You must visit this place if you are in Jaipur. An old fort, it encompasses the architecture and traditions of the Rajputana and Mughal cultures. It houses the Sila Devi temple, Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-E-Khas and several other buildings. You can also visit the Jaigarh fort while you are here. There is also a museum that houses artworks of up... More

I would have given this attraction a five except for seeing those poor beasts carrying uneducated people up that hill into the fort. This is the 21st century and people should be made aware that riding elephants is disgusting. Just google what it takes to "break" an elephant. It's just wrong to torture these beautiful creatures. The fort itself is... More

After driving nearly one and a half hours I was amazed by the view that I saw!!! It is very, very beautiful and well preserved palace. The place is magical. I felt myself as I was in the a fairy tale! Generally Jaipur is a city which looks like an oasis in the desert!!! The elephant ride to the palace... More

The Amber Fort was another wonder of India's rich history and well worth a visit. However, the elephant ride with Hathi Malik Vikas Samiti where the elephant wala takes your payment was disappointing in our case. (Elephant No 133 Bill No 26132 4th Dec) He refused to give us change from a large note and by this time our elephant... More

Even after visiting this Fort more than 6 times, it is my favorite attraction when visiting Jaipur. The ride up on the Elephant is awesome, although being harassed by hawkers in the line up waiting for your ride is not so much fun! Once at the Fort, a guide is a must as there is so much to learn about.... More

Huge fort built almost on Hill. It is difficult to imagine how such large material carried to such heights. Diwane-i-khas also called Sheeshmahal is attraction to see. There would be some walk and steps to climbs on.

I could visit the exterior. I arrived in a cab (Uber) and there it was, a beautiful building at the top of a hill. You start at the river, that has a beautiful monument/temple as an island. Then you start climbing stairs for about 10 minutes. It's not so hard. Some people prefer to go upstairs riding an elephant: I... More
