Fort made by Haider ali. Most importantly, it is well maintained by the ASI. A travel back to history...!

Tippu's Fort at Palakkad is located in the middle of the town. Its open for all no charges for entry and photography. Visitors can walk through the top side of the fort and stay for sometime. There is a temple for Lord Hanuman inside the fort and it is said to be very powerful place for worship. There is a... More

Well maintained fort in a reachable place. It is just a KM from the place we stayed in Palakkad. You will see turtles in the water ponds surrounding the entrance below the small bridge... You will get to see huge trees around the fort and it was windy when we visited.

One of the best constructions of Tippu Sultan. The Fort mounts all the facilities for a royal family living in secure compound. High raised fort walls, spaces for soldiers, the crocodile water bank around the fort still stands live

One never gets tired visiting the fort a hundred time. Tour to Palakkad is incomplete without a visit to the Fort. One may have different opinions about the Sultan Tippu and his autocracy but this wonderful Fort built by him earns him a reputation of great heights. This Fort is considered a tourist attraction not only from the imposing structure... More

I went early and walked around the Moat through the beautifully kept gardens across from the Fort . The circuit is open from 5am-8am , it is very pleasant to walk around in the cool crisp morning air with lots and lots of locals . People were very kind and friendly - occasionally some-one would just come out of nowhere... More
