It is the deepest canyon in Europe, and second deepest in the world after the Grand Canyon of Colorado, USA. 78km long, and up to 1.300m deep, this "tear of Europe", as it is also called, is a great natural and tourist attraction not only in the area, but in the entire country.

The Tara Bridge is a man made wonder and the Tara River Canyon is a most spectacular piece of work by Mother Nature. You simply cannot fail to be impressed by both. I wish I had had the guts to cross the bridge over the Canyon by zip line, something that I might try on my next visit.

This place is nothing short of natural wonder. Worth the time and effort put in to drive out there. Wished the zip lines were operational! The bridge there is another work of art! Make sure you travel south for better views of the bridge spanning across the canyon!

The Tara is an amazing river! We went on a rafting trip for a whole day. The water was cold, but so clear and blue.

We went there in December, so we expected cold weather and lots of snow, but were very happy to have sun, nice temperature and just enough snow! We enjoyed seeing Tara canyon and hiking trough with our dogs!

It is very impressive to see the canyon. If you drive up to Bobotov Kuk, you can take a way at your right. On the end of that way you can see intomthe canyon. Beautifull. It is an amazing view. The river is very calm this time of the year. I think it is always calm this season. But the... More

We e travelling widely in Montenegro and decided to stay near the. Canyon. Luckily we found a room next the Tara Bridge and walked the area which is unbelievably beautiful. We were lucky as the weather was fine. Not sure you would see much in poor weather. Drive by the canyon, perhaps take a raft, amazing.
