Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Furebergsfossen is an impressive waterfall located along the southern side of the Hardangerfjord in eastern Norway. We weren't planning to see it to be honest but as our cruise ship was unable to dock in Haugesund due to bad weather being predicted, the captain said we would instead be cruising the Hardangerfjord and seeing a waterfall, which was Furebergsfossen.

From the ship you could see the cars and lorries driving across the bridge in front of the falls and there is a parking site near the falls where those visiting can pull over and get photos etc. Like many larger waterfalls there can be heavy spray so you might get wet, and check and clean your lens if taking photos.

From the water and from a distance the waterfall looked like a scary ghost with its arms in the air...once seen you cannot unsee it.

Looked a powerful waterfall, so well worthy of a visit.

GPS without warranty: 5476 Mason; latitude 60.100222° longitude 6.168863° .

On the occasion of a cruise our ship stopped on 29.07.2024, with her bow ahead, relatively close to the waterfall for a photo stop. Apparently the fjord water there is so deep that this was possible without any problems. The lower part of the waterfall is about 80 meters wide and falls/flows at its visually essential point about 120 meters deep into the Maurangsfjord / Maurangerfjord. This part of the fjord is a lateral extension of the Hardangerfjord. A car bridge leads over the lower part of the fall. In front of this bridge, at a distance of about 30 meters from the waterfall, there is a parking area about 35 meters long and 5 meters wide.

We found this waterfall after leaving Odda to head back to Bergen. It is fantastic. Also, being from a city I was stunned to see such a beautiful waterfall so close and big as this one just being right on the road. Definitely take a quick stop and enjoy the Norway experience: awesome waterfalls as you drive!

Beautiful waterfall. However, did not go to Odda; just sailed past the waterfall on a cruise, sailing down Hardangerfjord. Cruised with Fred.Olsen Cruise Lines. Would recommend Fred. Olsen.

You can't miss this waterfall when driving between Rosendal and Bondhus. There's a place for a few cars on the side, so just go out, take some photos, and keep driving. There's a spray from the waterfall so check your camera lens.

We passed this waterfall twice: first before the rain and then after and during heavier rain. It was awesome the second time round with big water sprays going over the bridge that one has to cross. There is a small area south of the fall to park your car.

This fan shaped waterfall actually sprays water on the bridge when the water is high. The locals want the bridge moved but as a visitor it was fun.
