We did not stay overnight. Beautiful building with very friendly people. Exquisite floral displays in the entrance and hallways. Apparently they do stay open year round. Can you imagine how quiet it would be!

Having read the reviews, I think some people have confused the hospice with the hotel across the road! There are no St Bernard dogs in winter (they go down to Martigny). The monks are wonderful and the whole thing is an uplifting experience in winter....More

Nice place, quiet, calm. Nice chapel inside, a little museum with relics, worth seeing to understand the history behind it. It has been there for centuries.

Super friendly welcome, clean, warm, well fed & hot showers. A great ski touring destination, optional Christian retreat and stunning views.

I love this place, when I have my own children I will come back there to show them how lovely and friendly st. Bernard dogs are and how helpful they were and are in critical situations

Fascinating place; read all about is on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_St_Bernard_Hospice Even though the background is religious, you don't have to be to love it. There are two lodging options: the "hospice" itself, and the hotel in the hospice. This place is for the hotel portion. The...More

Created an account to say this. Although this area boasts about being dog friendly, it is anything but and this lodging is the same. We traveled as a family and the staff were unhelpful, rude and above all degrading. Complete disregard of human decency and...More

25 euros (27 Suiss Francs) for a gordon bleu lunch, and 21,5 francs just for a sausage and rösti potatoes. But luckily it tasted very good :-)

I was able to stay at the Hospice last August while walking part of the Via Francigena. My hosts were kind and welcoming. The venue was extremely clean. I paid for a shared room (It had 3 or 4 bunks in it) but got it...More
