    Family friendly day out
Brilliant for a day out with the kids, very personalised service, the lady showing us around was so lovely! She took time to speak to our daughter and even got out a bunny for her to touch. Soft play inside was fab and the animals were great! Although the weather wasn’t great it didn’t spoil the day.
Thanks for the fab review! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit and totally agree, a bit of rain never stops play! We hope to see you again soon

    The best birthday party!
We’ve been coming here since my children were very small and love it! The farm tours are brilliant and the play barn is always a hit too! We decided to have their birthday party here this year which was brilliant. The staff planned and organised everything perfectly and everyone had such a great time. Thank you Hannah, Charlotte and Sophie for your fab hosting on the day.
Hi Carmela, Thank you so much for choosing us to celebrate your special day! We absolutely love hosting birthday parties and believe that our carefully curated party packages which incorporate animals, food, indoor, and outdoor play are a winning combination! We hope that you left with some tired and happy children (and adults)! Hope to see you all again soon.

    Father Christmas holiday treat
Absolutely brilliant Christmas holiday experience. The staff are so helpful and Santa took his time and my 3 year old granddaughter was truly engaged in everything Santa and his elf said. I’ve been to others this Christmas and no where near as impressive or value for money. The animal interaction was age appropriate and informative as well as fun. Well done to a fantastic attraction.
Hi Jane, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your Christmas experience and hope to see you again next year if not before!

    Perfect day out 💗
First time here with my family, I loved every single bit it was great! Staff are absolutely lovely! It isn't so busy either which is good, so you don't have to budge for a room to see the animals, highly recommended it was great!! My little boy is obsessed with pigs he couldn't stop snorting all round the farm. Its got a lovely play area for older children and also for smaller children, Thank you so much can't wait to go again!! 💗
Thanks for the fab review Carly! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit and hope that it will be the first of many! We limit numbers onsite so the quality of the interactions are always kept to a high standard, with lots of opportunities to get real, hands on experiences with our animals. Keep an eye on our facebook page for the next batch of piglets, it sounds like little one would love to meet them!

    Farm visit
We found this farm very small with not a lot of animals. But hannah was very helpful and explained about all the animals really well and she was very friendly. I also like how my daughter was able to be hands on with the animals. The little soft play area was great for both adults and children and there was a lot of seating area down and upstairs
Hello, I would be very interested to know what other animals you would have liked to have seen? We have rabbits, guinea-pigs, rats, tortoise, snake, cockroach, ferrets, sheep, cattle, alpacas, llamas, donkey, ponies, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, guinea-fowl, and pigs. We also have lambs and piglets at the moment too. All of these you can get very hands on touching, holding, feeding, stoking, etc with the aid of our friendly guides. We are only a small farm, however we feel that this enables us to provide a personalised service like nowhere else. I am glad that you seem to have enjoyed this hands on, personal experience and hope you also managed to use the outdoor play areas?

A great day out for all ages
On Good Friday my wife and I brought our two granddaughters to visit this wonderful farm attraction. I was very impressed with the whole very enjoyable day. The enthusiasm and commitment of the young, well trained and knowledgeable staff was very evident particularly in the small animals section and the lamb feeding experience. I was very impressed with the hand washing precautions after the lamb feeding. The staff were obviously enjoying themselves too and nothing was too much trouble. I would strongly recommend it to anyone with children to entertain but while we were there it was evident that young people and adults were also very much enjoying their visit too.

Good day out with plenty hands on experience
We visited here for the first time on Easter Saturday. Wow. For a smell farm so much for kids to do. See the animals. And plenty to do for to play with go karts etc. got to feed the lambs which was a good experience and also very hands on experience for small animals. Like Guinea pigs etc. even got to brush the horse. And have to say how friendly and helpful the staff are too. Well worth the visit at a good price
Thanks so much for your fab review Kevin! We do believe that what we lack in size, we make up for in experience and I am so glad that you enjoyed your visit! Our aim has always been to educate visitors on all aspects of animals and farming in a fun way, and friendly, accommodating staff are a key part of this. We hope to see you again soon!

    An absolute must visit!
We visited the farm yesterday as part of a weekend away trip. We went expected a pretty average afternoon of seeing some animals. However upon arriving, the young lady on reception was so lovely and welcoming that I instantly felt excited for the rest of the afternoon. As soon as we arrived we were chatting with a great guy called Sam who was telling us all about the animals in detail and spent some quality 1-1 time with us (it was like having our own tour guide!). My partner got to feed the lambs, we got to hold the small animals and feed the goats. All whilst being able to ask questions to the staff throughout. A brilliant afternoon and we left absolutely thrilled with the service provided by the team. Big shout out to Sam as you weee so helpful and friendly and elevated out experience. Keep up the good work all!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit and will be sure to pass your comments onto Sophie (reception) and Sam (tour guide). We hope to see you again soon!

    Lovely family day out
We had a great trip to the farm today. We arrived shortly after 11 and stayed until about 3pm. The kids had a lovely time, seeing all the animals, feeding the lambs, holding Guinea pigs, a snake, stroking a tortoise, rabbits and a snake plus brushing the pony. We were met by staff multiple times who were very friendly and keen to tell us facts. We enjoyed lunch and coffees from the shop. The kids also played with the trikes and play area. It’s a small farm but much better than bigger farms we have been to.
Thanks so much for this amazing review! We are so pleased that you had such a lovely day with us and hope to see you again soon

    Highly recommend
Went with my daughter 31/07. It is an excellent place to take your children. Everything is very interactive and hands on but without it feeling like it could be overwhelming for the animals as numbers are kept small. The staff are excellent, inviting you to take part and talking to you about their animals, who looked well cared for seeming content and happy, many of them wanting to interact with you and coming over for a fuss. My daughter was invited to help a member of staff fill the water buckets which made her day. The yard and farm area were all clean and tidy. It is a small farm so it's more of a half day thing rather than a full day but excellent none the less. My daughter loved it and so did I and we will return again.
Hi Katy, Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a great review! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit. We do limit numbers onsite so that everyone can get the most out of their visit without having to battle crowds. This allows us to fully personalise activities and get everyone as hands on as possible with our wide range of small and large animals. We hope to see you again soon - it sounds like you have a great little farmer in the making!

We visited today with my granddaughter aged 21/2 who had a wonderful time. She loved the animals, goats. pigs, an alpaca, calves, ...and small animals including a tortoise...We went on the barrel train ride, she went on a go-cart with her Dad. her favourite was the soft play area, the slides , ball pool... great fun, very clean and well organised. The cafe is child centred, babychino, and juice as well as granny coffees. A good selection of icecreams was available but by then, Charlotte was worn out!
A party room was in full swing, if anyone is looking for something different.
We ll be back!
Booking is recommended.

Arrived today for the toddler session at 11am. We travelled half an hour from Darlington and had to unpack the baby and his pram out of the car. When we arrived in the entrance they told us they where closed for school trips!!!! No where on the website told us this, they didn’t offer any apologies or even offer us to come in seeing as there was only two adults and a baby. I explained how no where online told us this and the lady just said “I don’t know what the website says”. I also said it says that the toddler sessions run from 10:30am - 1pm. Which I assumed you could arrive at any time. She said “you go to see the animals at 10:30am” so this should also be explained online. Really bad communication, advertisement and also really badly signposted & difficult to find - Google maps takes you a housing estate.

Hi El, I am very sorry that you felt the need to leave us a 1* review for something which was your mistake. It clearly states on our website and our social media that we operate on pre-bookings only as we limit numbers onsite. Had you attempted to contact us to make a booking we could have advised on the timings of the tours running that day. Failing that, the 'baby toddler sessions' section of our website also reiterates the importance of pre-booking along with breaking down how the session runs (arrival between 10 and 10.30, tour at 10.30, free-flow play 11.15 - 1pm). We had a very large school trip booked in to visit yesterday morning (100 guests) and in such occurrences we are unable to accommodate any public tours due to the size of our site. We posted on all of our social media to make potential visitors aware of this - although usually no-one is caught out because of the pre-booking system. As explained to you at reception, you were welcome to stay and use the play areas and partake in our afternoon tour which was running after the school had departed. Perhaps if you had been less verbally abusive to our staff on the reception desk this could have all been resolved in a much more constructive way.

Simply the best farm visit we have ever had.

All of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
The experiences with the animals are second to none. The electric vehicles (£1), barrel ride (£1), go karts and soft play are excellent additions.
We had a lovely coffee, sandwich, cake and kids packed meal for lunch all of this was delicious and a reasonable price.
We will certainly be visiting again and recommending to friends.

Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful day out

We were looking for something to do on a cold, drab day to amuse a toddler and several adults. There's free parking and we were welcomed warmly when we entered the cafe/soft play area. First off was a walk round the animal area where we were met by Hannah. She was extremely knowledgable about all the animals and made the visit entertaining for all of us. Outside we saw cows and their calves, goats, pigs, ponies, llamas and chickens. Inside we saw guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, tortoises and a python. Hannah took out several of the animals so we could see them up close and have a little pet of them. After washing our shoes and hands it was off to the adult friendly indoor soft play area. Off with the shoes and into the obstacle course and slides for all ages. There's a small ball pit area for the under 3 years with several toys and a little house with windows for adults to keep an eye on the little ones while enjoying a hot drink in the cafe area. We spent a few hours at this venue and all had a lot of fun. I'd definitely recommend a visit and make sure you have your socks on so you can enjoy the play area.

Visited early January very impressed with staff ....facilities and service.
Nice seating area with leather Chesterfield sofas .
Kids and adults had a great time especially visiting the animals and going on the Barrel Train £2 extra and the pedal go carts . Plenty of soft climbing indoors and 2 big slides . Fantastic value for money will definitely return.

I honestly cannot recommend this gem of a farm enough! My three year old daughter had the best time, and it was far better than any other farms we have been to! What we valued the most was that it was so clear that experience was more important than money/business. The fact that you have to secure a time slot, and it meant there were only about 40ish people (maybe even less I think) around the farm at one time, so every single experience (the lamb feeding, donkey grooming, small pet holding) wasn't rushed or too busy as it has always been at every other farm we have been too (and we've been to a LOT!) We went to another farm a few days after on our way home from our holiday, and it was so insanely busy that our daughter didn't get a chance to do most of the experiences because there was just too many people, it was clear they valued squeezing in as many people as possible over giving each child an experience. The staff here just made the time to speak to every child and made them feel really special, my daughter was obsessed with feeding the goats and the woman made so much time to keep giving her the food! Even little things like a staff member showed us a family of swallows nesting in the ceiling of the pig enclosure, my daughter was fascinated! The soft play is absolutely amazing, in fact, I think she would have stayed there all day! The outdoor play, also incredible, just so much attention to detail. Just cannot emphasize the friendliness of the staff, how much they worked to make sure the experience was so personalized. I just wish we lived closer because we'd be there all the time! Thank you for an amazing day out.

Hi Rhiannon, Wow what an amazing review, thank you so much for taking the time to write it! We are a family run farm and we set up in the 1980's with the exclusive aim of providing educational, hands on, real experiences between people and animals. We do limit numbers onsite for this very reason and are really glad to hear that you appreciated this. If any members of staff in particular stood out for you do let us know as we would love to congratulate them. Do tag us in any photos too! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon.

Great place to take young children, staff were very friendly and enthusiastic throughout the tour and the visit allowing children to get hands on with the animals and encouraging involvement. The addition of use of the soft play after and cafe made it that much better. Recommend to anyone wanting to take their young ones out for a good couple of hours.

I wudnt say there anything really wrong with the facilties for kids but if you have any allergies it's not the place they don't have any dairy free gluten free products, they allow you to go off and eat but can't bring food on that they don't supply which is a really big let down when you wanna be there for the day. So heads up before you come search ur ideas first. No hot food from the cafe either only cold food which isn't great in winter

Hi Emma, I am really glad that you enjoyed your animal tour, however your comments regarding food are very misleading. We advertise online that our cafe serves 'grab and go style food' which incorporates pre-packaged sandwiches, wraps, etc plus a wide range of snacks. Many of these are dairy free and we can also make the children's lunchboxes dairy free on request. On the hot food side we often have soup which would fit the gluten free requirements, as would some of the snacks on offer. I appreciate this is perhaps not the restaurant style service that you were hoping for, however you have visited us on multiple occasions before so should have been aware. We simply are not a large enough site to warrant a chef's salary and large amounts of customer feedback has told us that this is not something that the majority of our visitors want anyway - they would rather eat quickly and get back to the action! You were also told when speaking with staff today that you are welcome to pop out into Bedale and come back (your tickets are for the whole day) and there is a lovely range of restaurants and cafes just a couple of minutes away - we could have even recommended our favourites! You are also welcome to bring a picnic along (which you actually did - so perhaps you never intended to eat with us anyway?) on the understanding that you eat in our picnic areas and take your rubbish away with you. I am really proud of all our staff for remaining professional throughout your rudeness and hope you are successful in finding other facilities more suited to your needs.

Overpriced “day out”. We squeezed 1.5 hours out of it but you couldn’t possibly do anymore. Lovely staff but I couldn’t help but think it was way too much money for what we got to experience. The animals were obviously locked away in the cold weather which we completely understand and expected but the play area was the only other thing to do and it was ridiculously outdated and dirty. We have been to full day 7 hour farm experiences for the same amount of money. Just think pricing definitely needs to be reviewed especially in colder months.

Hi Libby, We are very disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your visit. It is difficult to rectify any dissatisfaction when the first we hear about it is via an online review. None of the animals were “locked away” and the staff would have been more than happy to get you hands on with any of them. While we appreciate the colder weather means it is harder to spend a long time in the outdoor play areas, many people appreciate that the lower visitor numbers allows for a much quieter and more personalised visit. This weekend we have experienced very low temperatures (below freezing even during the day) and have still had several families stay onsite for the majority of the day. Hopefully you will come and visit us again in the warmer weather - perhaps Easter when we will have lots of lambs that need bottle feeding!
