Lovely spot and well worth a visit. Do wear suitable shoes though as access can be muddy and very rocky so not suitable for all.

This is a lovely little spot. The walk along the riverside through the wooded banks requires a little care and a bit of adventure in places. This is because there is a section where you have to walk over rock steps and around rock boulders - which can be slippery and muddy in winter or after rain. Just take care.... More

The hotel nicely decoated and spotlessly clean with a helpful staff (especially a young lady called Amy) Breakfast was good however the Dinner Menu was poor, mainly packaged hotel food with little choice, did not change. No local fresh fish or game which is in abundance in this area. The chef could do better.

Started our walk by having coffee and scones in the hotel restroom, lucky enough that we were able to park in hotel car park as the designated parking area is a long way from the path down to the falls. Path was wet due to the rain and was challenging in places particularly once near to falls as large boulders... More

We had a very enjoyable stay at this quaint hotel - no complaints at all. Both dinner and breakfast were enjoyable.

A pleasant walk, started next to the Mallyan Spout tea room, follow the path, you can't go wrong. Possibly not for the elderly as the path is a bit undeveloped and has a few steps. We had to climb over a few big rocks along the river bank but the waterfall was very picturesque.

Long clamber down . Fun climbing over rocks and well worth the trek to see the waterfall/spout. Hard trek back up to the hotel by the top of the path, called Mallyan hotel.

Took the 3.5 mile circular walk from Goathland car park to Mallyan Spout falls and back via Beck Hole. Some nice rocks and tree roots to scramble over near the Spout and pleasant path back through woodland and field. Falls themselves pretty with fun coin-studded tree stumps. Just enough challenge for our 5 & 7 year olds and fun for... More
