fascinating house showing one man's love of all things 'Tudor'

This is quite a small place to visit, and you can walk around it on your own in any way you like. It is like a farmhouse, which has had a 'long gallery' addeed, with another room... read more

I loved the house and the gardens were beautiful especially the purple borders with alliums galore. However our visit was spoilt by noisy lawn mowers in the main garden and worse still a man burning green waste so that smoke was everywhere. Surely the mowing could be done before 11am and bonfires are rarely necessary. Our visit was a lot... More

This is quite a small place to visit, and you can walk around it on your own in any way you like. It is like a farmhouse, which has had a 'long gallery' addeed, with another room at the end of the gallery. it has a lovely warm feel ( apparently due to the system which regulates humidity). There is... More

I was recommended to visit this by a room guide at nearby Baddesley Clinton. It is not a large house but interesting none the less. You can see how it has been extended over the years by its owners. What started as a Tudor house became an extended country house in the 1920's. with only 14 rooms to see it... More

As we were seeking out properties that we hadn't visited this was an unexpected visit as we had forgotten that we had been here two years previously. The house has some interesting items but is gloomy inside. Much better are the gardens and country walks although it would be sensible to choose a sunny day to really appreciate them. The... More

Beautiful stately home, note as interesting to me as the nearby Baddesley Clinton though. Still worth a look round though. My mother loves it

The house is different from many as the man that created it took his interest to a higher level. He created the house from other statley homes that were having to sell up or be destroyed by death duties. His loves shows in what he created. Don't forget the gardens with all the amazing yews.

Having visited the house many times, we explored the grounds and the surrounding National Trust countryside. What a treat! Abundant wild flowers, including masses of bluebells in the woods, beautifully tended gardens adjacent to the house. Excellent all-weather paths in the woods, climbing games for kids to play on.

We visited on a Friday late morning and it was busy in the car park it it didn't feel busy elsewhere. We had a lovely house tour with A guide who was very knowledgeable and interesting. The house itself is quite dark in many rooms making it difficult to see detail on the beautiful tapestries and artwork. Helpful room guides... More

The house it not very big, and can be visited in less than an hour. But it is very nice on the inside, and certainly worth that hour. But not only the inside was interesting to see, also the gardens were very nice and invited for a prolongation of the stay, as the sun was out and very pleasant. Maybe... More

We visited Packwood after visiting nearby Baddesley Clinton and was rewarded by beautiful spring colour in the borders and stunning Bluebells in the woodland around the lake. We took a picnic and used one of the picnic tables near the visitor centre, but have previously took a picnic into the gardens by the lake. Another lovely relaxing visit and this... More
