Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What's not to like about this place with its ancient woodlands, open meadows, lakes and a music-inspired kid's play area?

The whole family enjoyed an afternoon strolling around the place, including a baby in his buggy. The park was well-maintained and sign posted.

The only negative perhaps was the car parking charge £3.50 for 2 hours.

Lovely country park. Well looked after. Cute little visitor shop/cafe at entrance/exit. Only minor downfall is there now easy to understand route markers while exploring so could easily get lost.

We visited the Country Park during the very dry spell, with our dog and its located halfway between the A127 and the A13 - probably an easier drive coming from the A13. There is a chargeable car park which offer different rates depending on your intended length of stay - prices seemed reasonable. There is a shop which sells nice fresh sandwiches and ice cream and other goodies/drinks. There ars also some covered picnic benches and clean WC facilities, all near by the shop. The park itself has many paths and trails - there seemed to be a more 'accessible path' around part of the Country Park although there was little or no signage to guide us on our first visit. There were some ponds, lakes amongst trees and more open spaces. We thought it was a nice place for a dog walk and we shall return in Autumn and Winter when I'm certain the park will be at it's best.

We needed somewhere to stretch our legs and have lunch somewhere off the M25 and stumbled on this using Google. Car park was decent although seemed a little expensive compared to some.

Cafe was not as big or stocked as you get at some country parks - we did find lunch for ourselves as there were sandwiches and sausage rolls, plenty of crisps, sweets, hot and cold drinks. We're not fussy eaters though.., just don't go there expecting a range - and bizarre off-hand service, like they are a bit surprised to be dealing with you! Kid's Ribenas in the fridge were only full sugar which seems odd these days when you so readily get sugar-free/no added sugar everywhere else. Luckily weather was good as there's only outdoor seating - it is covered and a fair enough place to sit.

Toilet block actually had space (useful when you go with kids), 6 cubicles in the ladies and very clean when we went.

The play park was the best bit for us - just a few minutes walk down the main path through the gate. Lots of varied equipment - climbing structures, musical toys, sand pit - some families were choosing to picnic here as it's a nice spot to sit and combines lots of play with bench/tables for adults and surrounding nice grass areas to sit and you'll be able to see the kids, you don't always get that.

We didn't get time to explore the larger areas, but woods looked very pretty and explore-worthy. Signage was poor - I can see why another reviewer said take a photo of the map first, although I'm not sure even that would help me - there was no obvious simple signs back to 'car park/cafe' etc that I saw. I would definitely go back, as it's a nice place to get out and about, but have given an average score - there are definitely areas they could improve in line with other country parks (cafe range, friendlier service, indoor seating, value for money car park, simple , helpful signage)

Visited on Thursday 03rd March 2022. Rather than pay the high parking fees at this park I parked in the free car park in Cely Woods which is only a short walk from this country park via an off-road path. Once in Belhus Wood Country Park, there is a nice visitor centre/cafe and exterior seating/picnic tables. A short walk onwards brings you to a nice adventure playground. After this tbh, it's a mix of fishing lakes ad boggy paths. The paths were so poorly defined and unkept that I would avoid if looking for a place to walk in winter.

An absolutely amazing play area for children with a variety of apparatus to suit all ages and abilities.

Sadly have to say the toilets were in a disgusting state, which could have been due to visitors not leaving them in a respectable condition however this should be monitored. The biggest issue I had was all of the hand wash/soap pumps were empty (6-8 in total!) so unable to wash hands, which in the current climate is concerning. No hand sanitizers were provided either. I think hygiene should be priority in high footfall venues. My friend who accompanied me advised the male toilets were also in the same condition and without hand wash 🦠 🦠 🦠
