Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Kiss me like you mean it - fantastic production, acting, and script, delivered with pace and every emotion going! A play in two parts - best I have seen in 15 years of attending Summerseat Players. I can’t recommend enough. Don’t miss it!

I highly recommend seeing the current play, Pronoun. It is superbly acted by all of the young people in the cast. Very thought provoking and topical. Inspirational! Well done to all involved in its production.

I've lived here for years and hadn't realised it wasn't a professional theatre. Its modern, very well equipped and well maintained. The productions are all kept to a very high standard. There is a great youth theatre too which my daughter attends.

I went to see the world premiere of FLYING DUCKS by Tim Whitnall. What a fantastic play. The cast were superb and had the whole audience laughing out loud and gasping in shock at the same time. Well done to everyone involved. Definitely one of best plays I’ve seen.

This theatre is a real asset to the town - it’s got a lovely modern bar area, large main theatre and a smaller, more intimate studio space. And it’s always spotlessly clean.
The productions are always first class, and you would not think this was classed as an “amateur” theatre. The season of plays tends to have a good range to suit most tastes.
More people should know about this place!

Watched Hobsons choice last night at the theatre Royal, absolutely brilliant, so comical and well acted, Will Mossop was particularly excellent, although everybody made it a fantastic production.

Went to watch Hobson's Choice last night at Summerseat Players. Having always loved the version with Charles Laughton was curious if this production would live up to it.
It was absolutely hilarious. Every member of the cast were believable and totally held your attention. Would also like to say both myself and my Sister are patrons and have been for the last couple of years, this season's productions have been thoroughly entertaining and we look forward to the next. Thanks to all concerned

Once again we find ourselves back at this delightful Theatre. We came to watch Macbeth and we were definitely not disappointed. From the opening 5 mins you are transfixed into to this old classic which the director brought into the modern day.Dont be put of as the play never lost any of its powerful story. The lead Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were sensational and the rest of the cast from Duncan down to Flaence did everything to draw you into this wonderful play. Changed were the old Armour costumes to fatigues but it didnt take away from the powerful message this play is about.
Bravo to the cast and Thankyou to all the volunteers who give up there time and effort to make this Theatre a must.

Thoroughly enjoyed this portrayal of Macbeth. I found the acting, sound and direction mesmeric. Can’t wait to go again

Okay, the Summerseat players are extremely good and I have enjoyed several productions and thoroughly enjoyed them.
I liked their production of Macbeth, but it was a modern setting and a bit mechanistic.
Pick and choose what you go and see and enjoy it!
