This is a fantastic little zoo and you can easily spend a couple of hours here. The animals look happy and the premises are really well kept. The only aspect I find really worrying is the level of English shown here. This might be due to students from Northumberland College taking part in the creation of this attraction?! Did students... Set in beautiful surroundings and part of a working agricultural college. We visited on bank holiday Monday and it seems a lot of others had the same idea. There was plenty parking including for disabled. There were Easter activities on, which we didn't get time to visit but I gather there were arts and crafts. We were there 5 hours... More

Went here today, 4 adults and a 6 year old. Zoo opens at 10am, we got there at around 9:50am and the car park was just beginning to fill up. Like other reviewers have commented, please do not get this place mixed up with a much larger zoo. It's certainly no Longleat or Chester Zoo, there's still plenty to see... More

This is a lovely little zoo. However, is important not to compare it to the big zoos like Chester or Edinburgh - this is a different experience for about a third of the price. My children had a chance to touch reptiles in the Animal Encounters room (open twice a day). There is not a wide range of animals but... More

we went for the lambing experience, and were thrilled to discover peacocks interacting with us all, strutting around the picnic tables and resting on the roofs. highly attractive small zoo, which the little ones would adore. you were allowed to stroke rabbits and lambs. i loved the unusual variety. keep your eye out for a moody australian cockatoo. tried to... I'd never heard of Kirkley Zoo til my boyfriend suggested we visit but I was actually surprised at how nice it was, there is a good range of animals, all in large enclosures and most have company. Students from the college work there and there's lots of info about how they rescue animals and are engaged in conservation. It is... More

This place is small but perfectly formed. There is plenty to see and the animals look well looked after. It's not the biggest place but this is reflected in the entrance price which is very reasonable. We did the reptile encounter and the keeper was very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend a visit!
