We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice church. Choir stalls have misoricords 1000 years old. Useful information wands give a good explanation of parts of the church.

An incredibly old church with a very big graveyard, full of history and with a view over the fields. What a stunning place.

St Mary's is a beautiful church in a lovely setting. It was good to be able to go inside, and the grounds are very well maintained.

We had a wander around the graveyard as the church was not open. Very very old graves, dating back to 1700's on some of the stone's we could just about read. Some sheep were grazing in one area of the churchyard. Would liked to have seen unside the church, but unfortunatly not. This church building is very beautiful and very old.

Made a brief visit, quite an imposing structure, don't know its history but a very big church for the relatively smallish town of Lenham - good to walk around.

An ancient church that has been modernised to some extent inside - carpets, ramps, play areas etc. There's a few interesting things to look at, not least the medieval wall painting (remains of). Didn't;t feel the sense of holiness though.

St Mary's dates back to the 12th century in parts. It's quite bright, but much more atmospheric for winter services. The pews are unusual in that they have doors on. There are moves afoot to remove them as is the modern wont but as yet views are split 50/50. I think it would be a mistake to remove them. They are not comfortable, but you don't go to church for comfort, and they do provide a fixed back if you prefer to kneel for prayer. Sunday services cater for a good range of worshipping preferences - the 8am service every other Sunday uses the Book of Common Prayer, if you prefer the traditional form of worship. It is said, so no hymns, but also no interaction so better for those who aren't going to church to be sociable or find the protracted hand-shaking of the Peace rather uncomfortable. The 11am service alternates between the standard Holy Communion with choir & organ one week and a more informal service the next week (haven't tried that one) so traditionalists can stick to the 8am one week and the HC the next! The Friends of St Mary's are an active group that raises funds for the fabric of the building. The next event is the annual barn dance in the tithe barn (behind the church) on Saturday (22 September). Support is enthusiastic for this event so if there are any tickets left, they will be at the newsagents in the High Street!
